FTK Blog: just concentrate on one game at a time and leave the rest to luck.

This Saturday will be defining moment in our season. We go to the Potteries with a degree of trepidation and optimism. For when was it that an Arsenal team were left nervous at the thought of playing the team lying 11^th in the table. In the Premier league fixtures, Stoke City have lost at home to Chelsea and Man Utd but drew with Liverpool. They have beaten us in the FA Cup albeit with a weakened side. Now this full Arsenal team has to deliver and put this fixture away decisively. On a weekend when Chelsea could drop points to Manchester City, losing to Stoke City would reignite the inferno of doubt. 

Teams are lining up against us now believing that they can get something from the game. Fabregas is coming in for some awful treatment as once again x-rated tackles are let go by the referees. The barrage of long throws from Rory Delap will ensure that our back four have no rest. Ricardo Fuller will torment us with his elbows, and Abdoulaye Faye will give no quarter as he scythes through the back of our attacking combinations literally. The sheer physicality of this team is intimidating  yet, when were we The Arsenal ever afraid of a challenge?

We as fans will see if the players truly have the desire and belief. Will they be prepared to run and run until victory is assured? The emphasis must be on concentration and preventing silly errors. In the final analysis we have games that follow which give rise to faint hints of optimism. Burnley are struggling, followed by Hull City and then the London derby with West Ham. If we can take 12 points from 12 then the Premier league table may well look a little different by the time we play Birmingham away on the 27^th of March. 

Man United have West Ham, Wolves, Fulham and Liverpool. Chelsea have Man City, West Ham, Blackburn and Portsmouth (if they are still a viable premier league club). The match between Man United and Chelsea on the 3^rd of April had already been billed as the title decider by those arrogant Mancs and Chavs. I would love it… really love if they were wrong. So momentum is required and winning can become an infectious habit, but as they say just concentrate on one game at a time and leave the rest to luck.
