Shock, er, hike in Arsenal season-ticket prices

national_newspapers_montage

by CARL ELDRIDGE Arsenal have hiked season ticket prices for next season despite saying there would be a freeze on them. Well, I say hike…the difference in price from this season is the increase in VAT so I have, admittedly, overplayed that increase to the point where I think I have probably written a falsehood. But, hey, what are you going to do? You can go to arsenal.com now and find how much you will have to fork out.

I like many of you will stump up my dosh and look forward to another season of, well, who knows? Anyway, one player who seems to be set to come to Arsenal in the summer is Marouane Chamakh and today’s Daily Mail quotes Samir Nasri on the Bordeaux striker potential arrival, who has scored 13 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games this term, on a Bosman free.

‘It would be a great signing for us,’ Nasri said. ‘He is a player that I really like. Chamakh plays for the team, gives everything and works very hard. He has big potential and would fit perfectly in our team.’

Meanwhile, in the Mirror that under-performing meerkat Andrey Arshavin reckons Robin Van Persie’s return from injury came too late to save our season. You don’t say! He said: “Unfortunately it Van Persie’s return is slightly too late to win a trophy. He had a big impact last season and was doing well before his injury, and he is now showing his quality again. It would be easier for us without the injuries. I cannot say we would be champions but it would be easier for us.”

Arshavin could be back for Manchester City and adds in the paper. “This season has been tough, tight, sometimes it was even difficult for me and my team but in general it was not bad. It was a shame for me [to miss matches]. I was watching as my team was losing but it was a shame because I could not help my team-mates.”

Arshavin adds in the Sun: “This season has been tough but hopefully we will win our last three games. We have scored a lot of late goals and we have to use that spirit again next season. We can fight again next season.” If you are still with us, my little beauty.

Elsewhere and in the Telegraph Manchester City captain Kolo Toure warns Emmanuel Adebayor to stay calm on his return — seven months after his goal celebration in our 4-2 defeat earned him a £25,000 fine and a suspended two-match ban when he raced the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of us. Twot.

Touré said: “I have had a word with him [Adebayor] and Patrick Vieira has as well. Maybe it will be really tough for Ade because of everything that happened at the first game. The Arsenal fans are waiting for this game.  But Ade is intelligent and will just be focusing on the game and trying to win. He needs to keep calm and focus on the game because he is a professional player.  The last game was really difficult for him, but he needs to show more intelligence, be calm and not do anything because we all know that what he did was not the best reaction.”

Writing in the Bugle, revered scribe Henry Norris said: “Berate this arrogant shit for the entire 90 minutes and remind him who made him the player he is. Having said that, please subscribe to polite clapping for both Kolo Toure and Patrick Vieira. Good day to you, sirs…Senga, open the gin my dear, it’s going to be a long, long day.”

most misleading (and in fact factually incorrect) headline of the day

Arsenal have kept the price of a season ticket EXACTLY the same, therefore it costs you and I a little more because Gordon Brown is a t1t.

Actually for most price could reduce because:
    1. Last season ST holders owed club for
the 2 games as we went over our
allocation of 7 home cup tickets.

This raised the prices beyond the basic price for a season ticket.

    2. This season they owe us 1 match as we
    only used 6 cup tickets.

This season the price should be basic minus the price of the un-used ticket.

    Simple, hope so.

Idiot. Stupid misleading article to get people to click on your shitty page.

VAT has gone up for every and we’ve had one less game this season so it’ll ACTUALLY be cheaper once that credit is taken off.

Got halfway through the article and got bored. You talk a load of crap. Buying Vieira, buying Henry. Why not throw in Gilberto, Pires, Ljungberg, Toure, Cole while you are at it.

As for a GK, you say Frey ahead of Lloris. Who is the French Keeper? Age doesn’t matter. Almunia is 32, Lloris is 23. who is the better keeper?

To anyone else thinking of clicking on the link above, don’t bother wasting your time.

They are 5 mins of your life that you will not get back.

have you seen vieira or henry play recently? Vieira has been rubbish for citeh and i can answer the other question for you – No you haven’t seen henry play because he can’t even get an appearance off the bench. They were losing at Inter and they put an average left back up front instead of bringing henry on. And against real madrid they played alves up front instead of henry (because ibra was out). I think this tells us something about how past it they actually are.

they will always be arsenal legends. Lets keep it that way and not have our memories of them spoilt by watching old and now average players.

according to forbes arsenal is 3rd most valuable club in the world. ahead of barcelona but behind madrid in 2nd and man utd in 1st.

debt must not be taken into account. And newcastle are in the top 20 despite being in the championship!

Arshavin was watching when his? team were losing, he was also an on-looker for most of the games he “played” in.
