FTK Rant: Transfer Linked? STFU!!!

fans1

My blood pressure is continuing to rise as I review the way that Arsenal fans are being treated over the on, off Barcelona transfer of Cesc Fabregas. Same shite rumour different day it appears to be as Hill-Wood says the player is not for sale, then Barcelona confirm talks with Arsenal over the player but have not put in a formal bid. My take on this is that the club are so petrified about the backlash from fans like Vic Crescit, myself and others in not renewing our season tickets, the club, nay Arsene Wenger is scouring the planet for transfers that will distract us from the reality that we have given away our most valuable commodity to the Catalans. I wonder when will we see pictures of Arsene Wenger on the steps of the Emirates appealing for supporters to trust him?

If he is eventually transferred to Barca then nothing below a £50 million fee will make me feel that Arsenal Football have not sold it’s supporters down the river. Almost each day that passes my love affair with Arsenal Football Club is diminishing because of these activities. I feel frustrated and angry, we deserve better! ok we have had over 200 appearances from our world class playmaker, but when Cesc was made Captain, I blogged that this signalled the final throw of the die and Fabregas would be gone shortly. It fed my feeling that this was a typical move by Wenger prior to selling the player, like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira before him. I suppose if Robin van Persie is made captain of the Arsenal, we can kiss goodbye to him in two seasons time too.

Anyway what also pisses me off greatly is the new feature “Transfer Linked” on the official site. Now I ignored my original feeling that this was a cynical hypocritical grabbing of Internet traffic share, that served no purpose what so ever, but how can the Club claim that it dislikes idle transfer talk, yet it is seen to encourage it by this feature? I wonder if this feature could be seen as the club unofficially being involved in tapping up??? Seriously, the fact that the photos and names of players who are contracted to other clubs are being published on the site is open to misunderstanding in my book. The club should stick to doing things “The Arsenal Way”  Giving the oxygen of publicity to tabloid rumours is like suggesting Jack the Ripper was an NHS Surgeon. ENOUGH ALREADY!

Ok let me make it clear, Arsenal Football Club needs to gets its act together and stop giving me the impression that its remit is pandering to the feeding frenzy of tabloid hungry plastics, this smacks of using pathetic  marketing ideas which seem to be born of spotty 17 yr old pin stripe suited oikes with more oil in their hair than currently washing up off the Louisiana coast line. I suppose the conversations went something like this…  ”Hey we need to increase our internet traffic…Ok publish some tabloid crap, it always gets the most clicks…” The Club should be planning its ascent to the pinnacle of the Premiership, in activities on and OFF the field. We should be planning commercial ventures to extend our brand to South America, the Far East and America, pre-season overseas tours would help for a start. Buying a decent keeper, keeping Fabregas and bringing in world class replacements for Song and Gallas would sort out our on field problems. So you know what you can do with your Transfer Linked items Arse com? STFU!!!

Agreed, FTK. The new transfer rumours feature on the official site has me baffled — I know Man Utd have had one on their official site for a long time. But what’s the point, exactly? If it were to QUASH any such rumours, then at least I could see the purpose. But it’s not — all the feature does is just regurgitate rumours we can read in the tabloids. Really don’t get it. It shows the club’s total inability to grasp the mood of the supporters, if this is what they think we’d like to see on the official site.

I also agree that the club is worried about the affect on STs, hence their silence on the entire Cesc matter.

I find it funny when all these blogs complain about the transfer linked feature. They are just mad because the official site is taking away traffic from their sites that do nothing but rumour talk. Its so hypocritical.

I saw the transfer linked feature too. I was as shocked as you to see Arsenal of all clubs feeding the very frenzy it has always tried to avoid. I hope we can maintain our integrity and don’t become just another Barca or Real. The thing that makes Arsenal great is the way they conduct themselves off the pitch and not only on it. That’s the Arsenal I have grown to love!!

with you on all of this mate – we are being taken for mugs by the club…. It pains me, but AW isn’t helping with his stubborn approach to transfers.

With Cesc gone and no likely replacement of near similar quality, I wonder why the season ticket prices are ‘as they are’

Each season I end up on here whining, but I genuinely thought it would get better after 2007 – some hope

Cesc needs to go and it needs to happen this summer im actually hoping he does, great talent but are midfeild will always be lightwieght as long as Cesc is arround. if that idiot AW will replace him then i see no worries and NOOO Ramsey is not capable, Im always right im not the special one for no reason.

At 23 Cesc has more goals and assists than Xavi and Iniesta in a more competitive league.

Cesc will outshine all of the Barca midfielders and getting anything less than 60m for him will be an insult.

What a miserable blog and what miserable comments. Cesc hasn’t gone yet and from the failure of Barcelona to put in a bid, he won’t be going ‘cos they can’t afford him. Cheer up, keep the faith and up the arse.

Cesc wants to go, get over it, he only wants to go to Barca, therefore there is no auction, we will have to compromise or keep him against his will for one more season. To be competitive next season we need 5 players now, so £40 million would be reasonable amount to expect.

As for my season tickets, one will not be renewed the other will be returned if we do not sign a keeper!

Ill stick with Sky, ESPN and live feed!

Is it rather that they can’t afford our valuation, which I agree with btw, and in view of this will drop their interest and Fab4 will not be a happy chappy and resent the club, lowering his performances and end up beeing booed like greedybayor?

    Still keeping the faith though!

FTK, I guess you will have to change your nick soon. Why don’t you take Bergkamp The King, since this is the only player in the more recent history who wasiswill be loved by all and every single gooner like a real King. I say enough with the betraying spanish bastards – Reyes, Merida, Fabregas, Almunia.

FTK why are the Barça fans called culé?
It comes from the Catalan word “culer”, so “culero”. At the old stadium the culé used to sit on the wall with their backsides sticking out over the said wall, so that the passers-by, called them “assers”. The root for the word is of course “culo”. So, is there really any difference between the “assers” and the “arses”???
James Ferrar the Vice-President of FC Barcelona, is advocating THE ARSENAL and the Bayern Munich way of doing business!!!

If u actually look at the article on the website it says that u should take it with a large pinch of salt, so why don’t u take that pinch of salt n stop fucking whining. I can’t do with all these wank blogs from people who av been spoilt with the success that arsene has brought to this club. All u do is moan. If your such an avid supporter then u should be positive about the club through thick n thin, instead of trying to second guess what everyone doing at the club, n then whining about it. There’s clubs out there that struggle to stay afloat one week to the next, but I bet there fans aren’t as bitchy n depressing as ours. Get your cock out of your hand, move away from the computer, find a nice girl, n get some perspective! We all love this club n none of us want cesc to leave, but there were idols, superstars n trophies before him, n there will be idols, superstars n TROPHIES after him.

Arsenal will survive the lose of Fabregas. He does not win as many games single handed like Henry and Berkamp. The question is, do we believe Wenger capable of replacing him with the right player and strengthening the squad

I never thought i’d say it but I think Gourcuff is almost as good as Cesc. If Cesc goes I agree that 60m is only fair. Then we can get Gourcuff and have plenty left over for another few top signings. Think about how good Gourcuff is and then imagine what Arsene Wenger would turn him into. Not to mention he plays with half our team for France and has an amazing partnership with Chamakh.

The club are spending a fortune on the Gazidis Empire, appointing lawyers, creating a “world class” Human Resources department as well as setting up a marketing operation, and what do we get out of all this? A fatuous section on the website featuring tabloid gossip!

Somebody asked “what does Gazidis do” Simple …wastes the clubs money.
