Arshavin gets a giggle from Blackpool fans

by CARL ELDRIDGE Andre Arshavin is slowly getting used to the fan culture here in England and even had a little help from Theo Walcott to bring him up to speed during the game against Blackpool.

The Russian winger, who scored from the spot in the 6-0 demolition of the ten-man Tangerines at the home of football, was spotted chatting with Theo and thanks to Arshavin’s personal website we have the answer to the topic of debate.

The pair were discussing the away supporters virtually non-stop support for Ian Holloway’s men and AA says he was impressed with their humour and loyal backing for their team.

He said: “Yes, they are good fellows who supported their team. They didn’t stop doing it even when the score was 0-5. Theo told me: Andrey, do you hear what they are singing about? I asked him to clarify.

“It turned out that they were singing that the score was 0 – 5, but they will win 6-5. That was funny. I like it when people have a sense of humor when supporting their clubs.”

AA was further educated in our terrace culture when a friend went to the opening game of the season at Anfield where, of course, we picked up a 1-1 draw and a point thanks to their clown of a keeper.

He explains: “My friend was at the match against Liverpool. He said that the fans were hurling insults at each other for the entire match but after the game they left the stadium together and went to London in the same train. There was not a single clash. It was surprising for him.”

And for me, I have to say. Twasn’t always the case. COYG.

Fair play to the Blackpool fans. Let’s hope they spring a few more surprise results like against Wigan and give their fans something to cheer about.

I just wanted to mention Mr Redknapp. He is beginning to get on my nerves. Are Spurs fans really believing the absolute shite he comes out with?

Some of the classics of late have included:

Vieira really wanted to come and play for Spurs. What a load of horseshit.

Gallas was offered more money to stay at Arsenal but chose to come to Spurs. We have got one over on them. What a load of horseshit.

We offered Joe Cole more money than Liverpool did. What a load of horseshit.

He is very quick to come out and say who Spurs nearly signed. Maybe he thinks if he does this, Spurs fans will think he is trying to sign players and appreciate him for it.

To me, it seems like a crock of shite to deflect from the fact that Spurs can’t sign anyone decent and he is making his excuses.

Give him the England job and at least he has to deal with the players he has and not make up bullshit about the ones he could have got.

That well known East end market trader, ‘Arry the Twitch, just loves to see his name in the papers. Newspapers that is, he’s not so keen on his name appearing in court papers courtesy of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

I’m sure that soon those Spurs fans who can read will realise that there is no substance to ‘Arry’s verbosity. That will leave the vast majority of them in perpetual ignorance of course.

I have Spurs pals and I will be debating this very issue next time I meet up with them and get their take on it.

If AW came out and said how we offered more money for so and so and so and so wanted to join us, it would actually piss me off that we had missed out on these players.

I checked the Russian version of the site for Arshavin. That part is certainly not mentioned. She is a very good translator, by the way.
If you check further down there is a Video of the opending of a football play area for a certain soft drinks firm. What is interesting is the game employed not the throw-in but the kick-in, My impression is that it speeds the game up, or will it once the specialists step in!
I believe Mr Wenger is a supporter of this improvement?
