FTK’s TGIF: Transfer talk gets silly, Eden Hazard?

hazard-eden

Welcome to the wet pre bank Holiday edition of Thank Gooner it’s Friday, and clearly the gods have decided to restore the various droughts around the world, but forgot exactly where it necessary to dump the millions of litres of water. Most of it fell on China, Indonesia and Pakistan, so Arsenalinsider sends our best wishes to those Gooners who have been affected by personal tragedy or material loss as a consequence of this excessive rainfall. Here in England, we moan about four days rainfall as if it was the end of the world, but what it hasn’t done is dampen the expectation of another good result for this Arsenal team at Ewood park in tomorrow’s lunchtime kick off. Ok deep breath… lets dive in!

bigissues

Hazardous transfer talk

Transferwise the next Arsenal signing is dependent on whether an Irishman will be content to play second fiddle to his English counterpart. Manchester City appear to be clear that Joe Hart is the undisputed number one at Eastlands, but will not allow Shay given to join Arsenal. So if Shay Given moves to Fulham and that deal is concluded, then and only then will Mark Schwarzer’s move to Arsenal be completed. If it happens then this deal will be done late on the last day of the transfer window, because money talks and despite Mark Hughes and his sarcastic remarks about Arsenal Football Club’s way of negotiating, the player himself wants to come to the Emirates so why should Arsene pay any more?

All over the newswires is the talk of a double swoop by Arsenal for two Lille players. Their keeper Mikael Landreau and of course the belgian wunderkid who is said to be the next Lionel Messi. Eden Hazard has been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and now a supposed enquiry from Arsenal. At £20million I cannot see Arsene really making this call. Ok Le Boss did say that he was interested in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, but are we seriously to believe this speculation without a credible shred of evidence. Besides Arsene Wenger has said in today’s interview that there is little chance of any more business being done. Admittedly this is typical keep your cards to your chest Wenger tactics, but WOW? Harzard at the Emirates?…NO WAY! Place your bets now! (I pray that I am made to look a fool…lol)

From fantasy transfer talk to real deals. Arsenalinsider sits smugly after the Squillaci deal was signed sealed and delivered in line with the information that we received from our sources. It will come as no surprise that very few of the guys who attacked our site for that blog have returned to agree that we were right, but frankly who cares. Sebastian Squillaci is a very welcome addition to our squad and we wish him a very successful career here at the Emirates. Yes Ok we didn’t sign Joe Cole based upon our sources’s information but the pre-contract agreement was generally accepted to have been valid after the event.

Theo Walcott is a player that I have always supported on this blog despite the number of his critics, yes his hat trick came against Blackpool a newly promoted Championship Club, but what annoys me  is that the amount of negativity that still pervades the media about this fine young player. They claim that he needs to show it against the big teams, have they all forgotten his 80yd assist to Adebayor at Anfield in the Champions League tie in 2008? Want a bigger stage? Then what his hat trick for England against Croatia? I hope that he can stay fit to rub the noses of those so called pundits in their own smelly bullshite! I am so glad that he didn’t go to the World Cup and get tainted by those other pathetic performances!  I’d rather have Theo than Wayne Rooney any day!

Question: When is a Vuvusela not a Vuvusela?

Answer: When it’s a horn. I am often seen at the Emirates blowing the one that I bought down in Cardiff outside the Millennium stadium when we played Manchester United in the 2005 FA Cup final. Dennis Berkamp played up front on his own, Rooney missed every chance and Paddy Vieira broke Manc hearts with his penalty. So when a Steward came and informed me that Arsenal Football Club had asked him to draw this to my attention, I was somewhat baffled. My small horn is a quarter of the size and volume of the South African monster. I agree with the Vuvusela ban, but I will not stop blowing my horn…nuff said. A word of thanks to those Gooners who sit near me and supported me in my stand against wacky dictats. I’ll keep you posted if I get ejected from the ground at the next home fixture! Toot toooot!!!

Arsenalisation continues apace!

We need more atmosphere not less!

“We’re the West Stand, We’re the West Stand, We’re the West Stand, ARSENAL!”

Fans lucky enough to go to matches at the Emirates will have seen these murals adorning the walls of the stadium. Well the unveiling of the Clock went well but as predicted it will be some time before the stadium rocks to those chants. The Arsenalisation of the stadium will only be complete when the first real piece of Silverware is celebrated. We can win the league if we put our minds to it at places like Blackburn.

insideinsider

Much of this week has been taken up with Champions League speculation and the aftermath of the Blackpool result and possible transfers. The current group stage draw involves the return to The Emirates of Eduardo. Arsene Wenger is quoted as saying that he didn’t expect to see Eduardo back quite so soon. I have to agree that his return will be very emotional, and I do hope that he does not score against us.

Vic Crescit lamented the banning culture at Football Stadia and this is what prompted me to protest about the Vuvusela misunderstanding with my horn. In return I would like to propose the following bans to be put in place at the Emirates with immediate effect.

  1. Ban all people from attending the next game who leave the ground with over 10 minutes to play. SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!!!
  2. Ban all so called fans who boo their own players, SUPPORT YOUR CLUB!!!
  3. Ban people who have the audacity to come to the game and read a book whilst frantic play is taking place. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY!!!
  4. Ban all food being sold ridiculous prices in the Stadium, SUPPORT YOUR WALLET!!!
  5. Ban “The wonder of You” Anthem from being played at The Emirates
  6. Ban all the fans who won’t cheer when we have scored a goal SUPPORT ARSENAL!!!

Ok you get the point, if you have anything you would like banning at The Emirates or the Club, add your comments below.

arsenequote

“With regard to the position of a centre back, 30yrs is not old”

During his pre match interview, Arsene confirmed that experience in defence is vital. Having lost William Gallas, we now need at least one experienced player in defence. This change to his transfer policy is very welcome.  Arsene is fully committed to making sure that this Arsenal team is well placed to scale the pinnacle that is the Premiership.

Pre Match Interview

Theo Walcott – people forget how young the player is. He now has a good balance in his game with good final balls.

Tomas Rosicky – I love the way he plays football. He is truly an Arsenal player. He is back at full strength.

Chamakh – Cannot doubt his desire to do well, he defends in a marvellous way for the team.

Squillaci – He has a good attitude and will play well with the other Centre Backs.

Other Business? – Doesn’t  look likely at the moment.

Injuries: Aaron Ramsey long term,  Nasri back in 3 weeks and should get there before Bendtner.

Playing Squad against Blackburn: Fabregas, van Persie and Denilson in the squad.

How we deal withBlackburn like away fixtures?: Frustrating when we don’t deal with such teams. If we maintain possession we dictate the style. We want to win away more frequently this year.

finger

Alan Hansen of BBC MOTD for his mean comments about Theo Walcott’s hat trick. He is still dining out on his assertion that Arsenal will never win anything with kids. All we can say to Hansen is that “mate, you are the biggest waste of licence payers money so just STFU!”

thanks

To those people at Arsenal Football Club who have decided to give Arsenalinsider recognition by being one of it’s top twenty Blogs that will become affiliated to Arsenal Football Club. This great honour will allow Blogs special rights and deals that will soon become obvious. It has been organised in order to bring the Club closer to it’s supporters and also recognise those blogs that have provided a quality output and remained loyal to the cause. Which is why certain so called blog market leaders are not even on the radar. Look out for an Arsenalonline TV interview with my partner in crime Rob who is also known as Le Boss in our membership section.

Well done to all our contributors past and present who have helped us acquire this accolade!

I would love to see Eden Hazard in a Arsenal shirt, but you’re right, Arsene will probably not go for him at this price.

I wouldn’t say the 20 million price tag would be a problem for us. We’re not necessarily skint and next season and the season after we’ll have more and more money and for Hazard he’d be worth it and we’d know it so it is a possibility in the future. Hazard will be like another Ronaldo or Ribery so it’d be a good investment. 17/18 million plus add ons like the Reyes case and we’d have him.

TO McLuke: Don’t be silly. Have you forgotten that highbury only had a capacity of 38500 with over double that number consistently on the waiting list to gain membership. And remember also people take on hobbies at a late stage in their lives and that goes for football too. My dad who is now more than 75 yrs old started supporting The Arsenal passionately only in the last 3 years. Does that make him less of an Arsenal supporter because he never had the privilege to visit highbury? Get a life!

It is not the stewards that FTK should be worried about.
A Spuds supporting jobsworth employed (?) by Islington BC is preparing for the FTK collar to be felt by the MET, and the person with such collar to be incarcerated for the duration of the match and especially Alan Hansent. Childs Protection Act, mate!!

Eden Hazard has been tracked by Arsenal since he was 15. There is suggestion that if he does move Arsenal will be his destination and furthermore Lille’s relationship with Arsenal would allow him to move. He will however cost close to 20 million pounds with added incentive of Arsenal working closely with Lille over the coming years

Arsenal are overstaffed with mf. They need as a matter of urgency a new gk and a mid enforce one who breaks up attacks of the opposition. Arsenal do not need any more of these wc promising young guys.

Let’s face it, the atmosphere in The Emirates will never match that at Highbury prior to the ludicrous all-seater rule.

If you want to create an atmosphere, campaign for the return of standing terraces.

I seem to remember a noon kick-off on a Boxing day with the gate recorded at 60,003. The atmosphere was the best I ever experienced at what was later to become known as the Highbury Library.

Eden Hazard will arrive next season purchased with the money received from Barcelona for Fabregas.
