Arshavin: Beating that lot is a matter of honour

Andrey-Arshavin
by CARL ELDRIDGE He looks lazy. Sometimes a bit disinterested. He’s got a big arse. His backheels don’t always come off.  But when Andrey Arshavin plays by God he make a difference.
The little Russian is amongst the goals and rounded off the victory and helped change the game at Shite Hart Lane in the memorable 4-1 walloping of the wheeler-dealer’s shambolic mob in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.
And from day one of arriving at the home of football, Arshavin has been made aware just how important it is to maintain our superiority of that lot down the road.
The sentiment he displays in quotes on his own website should give Arsenal fans the world over faith in his desire to achieve success with the rip-roaring Reds. He said: “To defeat Tottenham is a matter of honour. So I was told by the old-timers of the club from my very first day in Arsenal. Of course, this victory is very sweet for the fans. We beat the most important rival of our fans. We are also glad that we’ve done a good job, and there is a result. On the other hand, we only got into the next round.”
He was then asked: In the 74th minute of the game when the score was 1-1 Arshavin came out, made two penalties and scored a goal. Was it a lucky pitch or a magician begins to perform his miracles?
To which he responded: “My first game against Tottenham I spent on the bench. Then I just moved from Zenit and didn’t manage to play in that game.
“This was my debut in this Cup. I think they have one of the best pitches I’ve ever played on. One could feel the fans’ opposition, the fight on the pitch, each team was dreaming about winning. I think we looked better, showed real fighting football. I think we controlled the ball well. The game was at a good speed, although the teams were playing in the mixed line-ups.
“In the additional time we outplayed the opponent physically, we had more strength. Look, in the last 15 minutes the two Spurs’ young players had cramps in their legs from tiredness, they couldn’t even run. They just stood in their positions, as if rooted to the ground.”
You get the feeling there is a great deal more to come from AA this season…

AA is not a defender and never has been. AW bought him for the touch of genius that only the great players have, like Stanley Mathews. Little Alan Ball whilst at Blackpool learning the business, was told by the great Stanley “Play the ball to my feet”; young Ball of course told old Stan to run and fetch it. To think that Stanley and Neil Franklin played for Stoke City. Changed ways indeed and the vacant spaces in the stands in the game against Fulham tell a tale about how the current Stoke City are viewed by the diehard supporters!
A certain summer night this year on a Moscow evening in a night club, Mr Arshavin was consorting with a young damsel, who was not in any way his “wife”. There is a video of Mr Arshavin’s behaviour, find it if you can!!! Little Jack should take note, never next door to the Daily Mislaidmail.

    Adam Alt,

I suggest you consult a psychiatrist who can help with not only your innate lunacy, as evidenced by your admitting supporting Spurs, but also your delusional thinking that Spurs are good.

Maybe a prolonged course of treatment will, as you approach puberty, cure you of your unfortunate afflictions.

    Best wishes for your recovery.

4rsena1 terrorised the scum at SHL. And the best thing is hearing them harp on about the first penalty…Come on Nasri! Hahaha! Cant wait for November to hear what other nonsense excuses they use to comfort themselves in massive defeat.
