Lucasz Fabianksi is probably a decent cove. But when is decent good enough for the Arsenal? How can people moan at me when I state the obvious? He isn’t good enough to keep goal for the Arsenal. And his mistakes will cost us. Time and time again. As will the mistakes of our other under-performing players. I am not picking on the Pole. But the reality is that his howler cost us. Maybe my critique of him in fed by frustratiuon. Probably is. Am I being too harsh?
Yes, it is painful to examine our side and find fault. But we can’t paper over the cracks. Granted, he will have half a dozen reasonable games. maybe more. But when push comes to shove he will make errors. Costly errors. Teams who have custodians who make costly errors don’t win titles. We might land a cup. But over the piece, our consistent inconsistency will cost us dear.
I hope I am wrong. I would love nothing more than to go to Wolves tomorrow night and see him deliver a between-the-sticks masterclass and then go unbeaten all term with him as our player of the season. I am Arsenal after all. I don’t say things for the sake of it. Been going for 39 years so let me reiterate I do support the club.
Wolves? God knows we need a win. Vital. And do you know what, I can see us pulling our socks up and nicking something in the Black Country. Yes, of course we can get the title bid back on track. But we have lost at home to West Brom and the Geordies. Two promoted sides. Now we will be nervy when we play at home. And who is next up? You guessed it.
I and every Arsenal fan out there has the right to comment where we see fault. God (Dennis) knows we cheer loud enough when we are delivering plaudits. Anyway rant over. Let’s hope I can eat my words come May. Just don’t shoot the messenger, chaps. Up the Gunners.
