Cesc: Carling Cup final with Brum will be amazing

Cesc Fabregas is more optimistic of a showpiece Carling Cup final at Wembley against Brum than I am I have to say. Alex McLeish’s bruisers rolled over West Ham in an exciting encounter at home last night but enough of the fun and games before the match in the car park.
No, only joking Mr Officer. Yes, the Blues won through against Avram Grant’s side and it is they with whom we must compete to land the silverware.
And skipper Cesc has praied the St Andrews outfit and predicted a thrilling game come February 27. He told followers of his Twitter account: “Congratulations to Birmingham City, great performance and come back. It will be an amazing Final.”
No doubt McLeish will have his hoods fired up for the game and be in our faces and he has already admitted to not being able to pass as we do but says his team can get to us in “other ways”.
Of course, as a result of final, our away game versus Vermin Hotspur at Shite Hart Lane scheduled for February 26 will now be re-arranged.
In other news pertaining to the rip-roaring Reds this morning, it is being reported that we – as well as Hooftheball – have had bids for Southampton starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected.
The 17-year-old is rated as one of the hottest talents of this transfer window and is rated at £10million by the Saints. It is said that we are prepared to pay an initial payment of around £5million – but the Scummers want as much up-front as possible.
