Come dine with Cesc…and Szczesny backs fined Ollie

cesclunch

by CARL ELDRIDGE Cesc Fabregas is certainly refuelling properly for the gruelling schedule of games ahead if this snap he has just posted on Twitter is anything to go by.

Our skipper dined with his sister and mum and decided to share the occasion with his account followers. With it he wrote on @: ‘With @carlotafabregas and my mum having lunch. Btw, this is the biggest chicken millanese ive seen!!’ I think Cesc will be rested for the FA Cup clash against Huddersfield at the Emirates on Sunday but his ample lunch proves he should have enough energy to be at his best against Everton on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Chesney (@) has taken time out to survey the football landscape and comment on the perceived injustice of Ian Holloway and Blackpool being fined for supposedly fielding a weakened team against Aston Villa in a Premier League game earlier this season.

He tweeted: ‘Maybe I shouldn’t talk about it but can someone explain to me why is Ian Holloway fined? The players that played vs Villa were good enough!’ Love this kid, has an opinion and not afraid to share it. Incidentally, this just in: Blackpool Gazette reports that Holloway to offer resignation after club was fined £25,000 for ‘weakened team’.

Meanwhile, Samir Nasri has been shortlisted for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for January. Vote for Samir here:

On a completely different subject…. It is interesting to note how little the various newspaper hacks really know about what is going on in the transfer market.

According to The Sun Liverpool have turned down a £40 million offer from Chelsea for Fernando Torres, While the Daily mirror says it’s £60 million, it’s £50 million according to The Daily Express but only £35 million if you believe The Times. How do these so called journalists get away with such rubbish.

On a more interesting point, apparently Old ‘Arry Redknap was on a nice little earner while in charge a Portsmouth, he got ten percent of all transfer fees when selling players, no wonder poor old Pompey nearly went down the pan. The rumour is that ‘Arry’s only getting two and a half percent at the Spuds. And we thought agents were the blood-suckers!

yeah i can’t believe some of the crap they come up with. Some of them do actually have contacts and good sources but others must have the most boring and unsatisfactory lives imaginable. Think about it. They go into work, think of a club who might be looking for a player in a certain position, think of a player who plays in that position, call up their agent who says that “who knows what will happen in the future”, and then make up a number which will be the fee.

Then they write it and it might appear in a paper whose only readers can’t actually read.

A good example is that there are 1437 ‘news’ articles on google with a ‘story’ linking mascherano to arsenal. wtf

Arsene finally tells us who the number one goalkeeper is and it goes to Wojciech!

“At the moment Wojciech is number one,” he said.

“He has done nothing wrong for me to take him out, but I can rotate the goalkeepers.”
