Arshavin: Ref made a terrible blunder

Andrey Arshavin reckons last night’s 2-1 win over Everton will galvanise our side for the challenges that lay ahead for the rest of the season.
The little Russian nicked our first goal before Kozzer headed home the winner against David Moyes’ men at the Emirates in a game that saw the most blatant offside goal from Lou Saha in a long time. And Arshavin was delighted with the triumph and says the squad is now preparing for the tough trip to Geordieland on Saturday.
He told his official site: “Even before the game we knew that it would be difficult to play against Everton. We anticipated and were getting prepared for a tough clash, keeping in mind our game last year. It was evident that they were very serious about Arsenal, showed us a real fight. They managed to impose their way of playing from the very start.
“Actually, it’s hard to predict the way the game would have turned out had the referee not made this terrible mistake. Perhaps, the referees get confused with the rules defining offside. Hhow can one not notice ten-meter offside? I don’t understand, after that goal it has become even harder to play.”
Arshavin adds that the Gunners managed to seize the initiative to grab three vital points in the race for the Premier League title.
“I think this is due to the fact that they got physically tired. Their previous game was against Chelsea, today they played against us. It’s not easy. I am very glad that we were able to press them off and win. We got three points. It was a very important win. As I’ve already said, but sometimes it’s nice to repeat certain things, such victories bring additional emotions and strength to the team.”
Asked if AW should have started him earlier, he said: “No. He shouldn’t have. There is a time for everything. But seriously, I played the whole game on Sunday, today is Tuesday. This is the first time in my career when I came out on the pitch for the second time in three days.”
Now Arshavin is looking forward to the rest of the month – with the Carling Cup final against Brum at Wembley to anticpate as well. He added: “I believe that January went well. We reached the final of one Cup, went further in the other. We are going second and continue to race against Manchester United. February? I think it was a good start of the month. It is important to stay in the winning mood, because this month we can win one of the trophies.”
In other news, David Moyes is a moaning twot.
