Go do us proud, Aaron and Jack

Today brings us news that Aaron Ramsey has been selected by manager Gary Speed to captain Wales against England in the Euro 2012 qualifier at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff tomorrow. Congratulations Aaron. As a proud Welshman I shall be green with envy when you lead out our boys to face England mate. A great achievement at only 20 years of age, especially after so long out following his horrible injury last season.
Wales are playing for pride. Our chance of qualification for Poland & Ukraine has gone effectively. Not so England for whom our Jack Wilshere will feature. I know many, many Gooners are indifferent if not positively hostile to international football. I’m not amongst them. I can’t wait for the game tomorrow.
Our normal luck with injuries continues with Nicklas Bendtner having picked up a training knock to his ankle in Copenhagen. He may be fit to be selected for Denmark in their Scandinavian derby against Norway however. No news in good news for the rest of our players on international duty.
The Football Supporters’ Federation’s campaign to restore a safe choice to fans to sit or stand to watch top-flight football as they prefer continues at a brisk pace. The Guardian sports blog published for and against pieces by FSF chairman Malcolm Clarke and the chief football policeman for England & Wales South Yorkshire Assistant Chief Constable Andy Holt. You can find the blogs here.
You’ll find a link to for or against poll The Guardian is running here. Make sure you vote. You only have the rest of today to do so.
I won’t go over all the arguments I made in my last blog on Wednesday on this issue again. You can find that blog here.
Keep the faith!
