He can’t keep his geggy closed, can he? I am talking about Barcelona president Sandro Rosell. Is there any stance this prat hasn’t taken over the on/off/no-chance move for Cesc Fabregas?
The latest claim insists Barca will not be making an improved offer for our captain in the summer. Remember they tried to bring Cesc back to Nou Camp last year but were told to do one.
Now new reports suggest they will again try to tempt us into parting with Cesc but that, even though coach Pep Guardiola wants Cesc in his squad, the Catalans won’t offer anywhere near their original offer which was arounf £43m.
“Barca is not disposed to pay €50million (£43.9m) for Cesc Fabregas next summer,” said Rosell in an interview with Catalan newspaper Sport. “That is decided and, although Guardiola demands this player, we will not pay this amount. It is impossible due to a simple reason. In football, prices are reduced each year and, if we offered Arsenal €40m (£35.1m) for Cesc last summer, €50m is now impossible.
“If the coach demands Cesc we will negotiate with the Gunners, but at a correct limit and without madness and, if the operation is not possible, we will wait for other opportunities. Our relationship with Arsenal is not good. The Toral issue has not pleased us.
“The future of Cesc is in his hands and we could only negotiate with Arsenal if Guardiola insists. Only with any sale is it possible to increase the money for the negotiations.”
