Arsene tunes in to TV5 for Stoke clash

Oh, what could have been! It’s agonising being an Arsenal fan right now given that had we accrued just a few more points we would be poised to lift the Premier League title. Ho hum.
But wait, what’s this coming over the Hill, it’s Vermaelen, it’s Vermaelen. Yes, TV5 is ready to hand Arsene Wenger a boost by making his first appearance for the Gunners since August against Stoke this Sunday.
Yes, you are right that makes it doubly disappointing and a case of too little too late as we travel to the Snotteries while a few miles further north the Mancs and Chavs battle it out for the title.
All we can do that getting TV5 fit and with a good pre-season before him, he can be like a new signing for us at the back. Not that AW should call off his search for another central defender. The solution is bung the Toffees £20million for Phil Jags and be done with it.
For the record, TV5 has not played for nearly nine months after suffering an Achilles injury whilst playing for Belgium. He played 90 minutes of Arsenal’s reserve game against Manchester United last week and has been given the go-ahead to make his first team return.
A tale from the tabloids this morning says we we are weighing up a summer move for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Willian as a potential replacement for Samir Nasri. He is described as a ‘contract-rebel’ (his current deal expires at the end of next season and he has put talks over a new contract on hold until the end of the season) but I think that is a bit strong and see him staying at the Ems next season if I am honest.
The papers say Arsenal scouts have watched the Brazilian a number of time this season and have been impressed. If Nasri refuses to sign, there is speculation that we will look to sell this summer rather than run the risk of losing him for nothing at the end of next season.  And that, it is reported, is where Willian, rated at £22million by Shakhtar, comes in.
*Thanks to everyone who enquired about the season tickets for sale. They went very quickly and to respond to everyone individually to say so would be, at best, tedious. Again, thanks for your interest.
