Arsene Wenger concedes he needs to improve on his squad in the transfer window this summer, but as usual, is not expecting to spend too much.
The manager believes small improvements are needed on an already ‘strong base’ at Arsenal Football Club.
He believes the Gunners have shown quality this season, being the only team to beat both Champions League finalists this year.
But the Frenchman admits the Carling Cup defeat derailed the campaign, saying his players did not handle it well.
“We need to add, of course, and we will do,” said Wenger. “But we have a strong base.
“We have enough quality to beat anyone in the world, even with the current squad. You have a Champions League Final and only one team has beaten both of them and that is Arsenal.
“We have a good team and are the best away team [in the Premier League]. The loss of the Carling Cup Final had a huge impact on the team and we did not handle it well.”
