Arsenal have been offered Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara for Cesc Fabregas, in a deal that could be worth up to £50m.
The Catalan giants seem to be edging closer to signing the current Arsenal captain, and this appears to be the latest deal, in what appears to be a never surrender summer for the La Liga champions.
It seems that the two clubs cannot agree on a sum for Fabregas. Barcelona will only offer up to £30m for The Gunners captain, after Arsenal cemented their own price tag of £40m.
Alcantara is the son of former Brazil and Barcelona midfielder Mazinho, who last night suggested that his son will remain at FC Barcelona, despite a number of reports linking him with a move to North London.
“He has a contract and will stay next season.”
However, reports in Spain are suggesting that the talented youngster may have to leave Barcelona.
Alcantara has had a very limited season this year, so may look to move to another club in a bid to get more game time elsewhere.
