Adel Taarabt: Arsenal Want Me

adel-taarabt-286618892

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt has suggested that he would be up for a move to Arsenal, but only if Cesc Fabregas leaves for Barcelona.

The ex-Tottenham man had a very disappointing time at White Hart Lane, but has since impressed football fans up and down the country, after acquiring a permanent move to QPR.

The 22-year old had a fantastic season last year in the Championship and contributed greatly, helping the west London side win the league, allowing them to return to the Premiership for the first time in 15 years.

In an interview with L’Equipe, The Moroccan also revealed that Chelsea are chasing him too.

“QPR will demand £10million pounds for me, and for now, the clubs do not move too much.

“I had contact with Arsenal and Chelsea, but it is a little muddled. Arsenal have not yet sold Fabregas, and as for Chelsea, they do not yet have a coach, so we will see.

“I would like to stay in London – it is the best city in the world, and with Queens Park Rangers? Why not?”

Towards the end of the season, I saw multiple QPR matches and I have to say that Adel Taarabt was absolutely fantastic in every game I watched.

However, it’s an obviously huge step-up to the Premiership and looking back, the time he spent at Tottenham doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence.

Clearly he has improved dramatically since his Spurs days, but would he be good enough for a club with such ambition like Arsenal?

I'm 20 and have been an Arsenal season ticket holder since 2006. My family has had Arsenal links since the 1920's, and the support is still going strong. I am at every home game, and also manage to get to multiple away games, when I can. I have been writing for various blogs and websites since I was 15, but have now settled down and have become a regular writer for Arsenalinsider. I also run my own Pro Evolution Soccer blog, Only Pro Evolutions. Arsenal is my passion. Writing is my passion. I was never good enough to play for The Arsenal, so I'll do the next best thing!

The f*cker has attitude out of this world. Bendtner’s attitude on steroids. The first time he got subbed and threw his shirt down he would be tossed out of the club. (he did that for qpr in one of the last games of the season)

well worth a gamble…. he maybe a hot head but we have had our fare share in the past and at times its served us well. if it doent work out wenger would atleast recoup his money next summer. for me he is just as exciting to watch as nasri (when the pair of them decide to turn up.)

Gives the ball away in silly areas of the park and that alone prevents him being top drawer..great talent in noddy football but not the prem

What was that crap about Fab sale? Is he really expecting to be Cesc replacement?
If he will join, he will need to undergo some training and will not be the first choice for a long time. Does he posses the same patience as Theo? Not likely. We do not need another Bendtner in the Club, and Bentner actually is not bad at all.

i only saw him once last season,,against coventry at loftus road on sky some saturday morning,,i was very impressesd,,hee seems to be very tricky yet direct when it mattered,a few stepovers and dummys out wide but seemed ruthless when he beat his man ,,a peach of a ball for the winner scored by routledge,,at 22 he looks older i thought he was around 27 or sumtin,,rather him than barton

Bit pessimistic here guys. The guys got incredible talent. He is single handedly the reason why QPR got promoted to the prem and was the best player in the championship last season and by some distance. Although i agree that it still remains to be seen whether or not he will do well in the prem and we should defiantly wait until hes at least proven in the prem, if in fact any of this is true. He has great potential though.

If we wait until he’s proven in the prem, he will be long gone.

arsenal isnt worth gambling with over one player who is far from certain to have an impact in the premier league.
arsenal has a great culture, and it would be stupid to bring a player in who wouldnt respect that and would unsettle the squad.
we want trophies but we’re close and dont need to be gambling as much as the sensationalist bloggers out there would like us to believe.

Warnock has said that you have to build the team around this guy.
Although we had some of that with TH14, we really can’t go down that route again.
He’s a great player but not right for us,.

    No!

Let me explain, “I had contact with Arsenal”, probably means his agent has been touting him around The Premiership, not that Arsenal have expressed any interest in him.

Well the current team is built completely around Cesc and it has cost us. It seems to me that lots of players aren’t playing a role that is their best (including Cesc) because of the refusal to change the system in any circumstance just because he thinks cesc should be playing in this position in this formation.

Against weaker and more defensive teams I would have played RvP behind Walcott with Nasri and Arshavin wide and Cesc and Song in Centre midfield in a formation closer to a 4-4-2.

you need to know the facts about this kid before you write articles on him, I listened to Neil Warnock being interviewed recently and he said he was told that he would never stomach Taraabt as a player prior to joining Loftus Road, Neil warnock said he spoke with Spurs and was told he gave the ball away far too frequently to play top flight football but did have an array of tricks and skills, Warnock by his own admission then watched him train for the first time and stated that the boy was absolutely class and you have to forgive his stupidness in dangerous areas of the field, he also went on to say you can get away with it in the championship but most definitely not in the prem, I have watched Taraabt closely since he left us and there is no doubting his talent but he is like one of those annoying amateur players who just does not grasp that doing a cruyff turn on the half way line when a player is unmarked in front of you is not the done thing..ultimately Taraabt is not a prem player with that unpredictability in his longer..we all know that type of player will never change..keep ball the higher level you play or it is cheerio..especally at a side like Arsenal..

he shone as a big fish in qpr but he” find life at arsenal to be quite different…in any event he will most likely have all those tricks coached out of him (or prem defenders will kick it out of him)

If he thinks he’s cesc’s replacement then he isn’t coming because Cesc isn’t leaving.

You missed my point. Probbly overrated your ability to think. Bendtner is not bad as a sub. But he is not happy. That T guy is not going to wait on the bench judging by his comments. He will demand place just like Nick did. Theo waited and learned on the wing.
