Wenger’s fresh bid to take Odemwingie to Arsenal

Wenger_1663750

Arsene Wenger is said to have made a new approach to sign West Bromwich striker Peter Odemwingie for Arsenal. A claim in this morning’s Dail Mail says reports in Odemwingie’s native Nigeria claim the striker, 29, has been the subject of an official approach from the Gunners manager. The paper reckons Odemwingie is out-of-contract at the end of next season but the Baggies are keen on tying him down to fresh terms.

Howeever, the Daily Star reports that the forward has turned his back on a dream move to the Emirates with the claim that Arsenal have offered him “peanuts” for a salary.

The paper claims that AW does want the West Brom star   and he is willing to pay £4m for his services. But Odemwingie is unimpressed by the deal on the table and may prefer to sign for T******** (marbles, loose, clearly – best of luck in the Eurowhateveritis League, Pete).

Oh, and check out this made-up quote…Odemwingie: “My burning ambition is to play in front of a derisory 30-odd thou ev. week and reach heights of Europe League.”

The “star” reckons a source close to Odemwingie said: “Peter is not happy that, while the Gunners are willing to meet West Brom’s transfer fee, there will not be much change in his personal terms. The club are proposing what he considers to be peanuts for him.”

And the yawn-fest continues surrounding Cesc Fabregas. The Mirror this morning report that Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted the Catalan club are unwilling to pay Arsenal’s £35million valuation but says the midfielder is doing “all he can” to join Pep Guardiola’s side.

I fear for Arsenal if Wenger aint willing to pay for quality. He would go for second rate like he did with the two Frnch defenders.Until I see evidence to the contary,I would maintain that the coming season would be a repeat of last season. Too many false dawns .

    quality????????????????????

    Odemwingie ..Quality?????

dont make me laugh- I have fervently supported Wenger against the many detractors as i still feel he is by far the best man for the job …BUT, if he buys this rather underwhelming 29 year old I shall be joining the ranks calling for his head. I am presuming this is just paper rubbish. We shall see..

Odemwingie is one of the current best players is Nigeria, Wenger pricing him 4M and tagging Bendtner 12m is an error and unacceptable. Odemwingie is 100times better than Bendtner. Wenger pls price him well and bring him to ARSENAL. Nigerians will be happy to see him in Arsenal jessy next season.

silly season sucks. AW might figure 10 games for this guy and that he is backup. But I think the report is miles off the mark regarding our player aspirations.

Reports in todays papers is that Chelsea are chasing Eto’o. If Etoo is available I would not doubt Arsenal are showing interest.

Have we ever seen reports of Arsenal chasing someone and then them signing? I can not remember a case except at the last minute when the deal is done and dusted that it gets out. It is just not the arsenal way on these things.

I think JUly 1 or thereabouts will disclose Arsenal’s actions and aspirations and that we fans will be happy with what comes our way. Just a hunch I know nothing.

Odemwingie is not as good As bendtner. I am Nigerian but that would not make me say the truth. Arsene remains the right man

If Peter could net in 15 goals for a club like west brom, imagine how many he will score based on the quality supply he would get from our midfield! I advice you stop advertising your inadequacies in public!

What do you think is the real age of other African players in Arsenal? Odemwingie was born in Russia and as such he is using his real age. The likes of song, eboue, eto etc are much older than what their passport displays. If Odemwingie was born in Nigerian, he probably would have been younger than John Obi mikel! Don’t be fooled!!!!!!!!
