Arsene Wenger is said to have made a new approach to sign West Bromwich striker Peter Odemwingie for Arsenal. A claim in this morning’s Dail Mail says reports in Odemwingie’s native Nigeria claim the striker, 29, has been the subject of an official approach from the Gunners manager. The paper reckons Odemwingie is out-of-contract at the end of next season but the Baggies are keen on tying him down to fresh terms.
Howeever, the Daily Star reports that the forward has turned his back on a dream move to the Emirates with the claim that Arsenal have offered him “peanuts” for a salary.
The paper claims that AW does want the West Brom star   and he is willing to pay £4m for his services. But Odemwingie is unimpressed by the deal on the table and may prefer to sign for T******** (marbles, loose, clearly – best of luck in the Eurowhateveritis League, Pete).
Oh, and check out this made-up quote…Odemwingie: “My burning ambition is to play in front of a derisory 30-odd thou ev. week and reach heights of Europe League.”
The “star” reckons a source close to Odemwingie said: “Peter is not happy that, while the Gunners are willing to meet West Brom’s transfer fee, there will not be much change in his personal terms. The club are proposing what he considers to be peanuts for him.”
And the yawn-fest continues surrounding Cesc Fabregas. The Mirror this morning report that Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted the Catalan club are unwilling to pay Arsenal’s £35million valuation but says the midfielder is doing “all he can” to join Pep Guardiola’s side.
