Time right to flog Fabregas from Arsenal to Barca

cescy

Arsene Wenger has rebuffed Barcelona’s bid of £31million to take Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, reports claim this morning. Surely a matter of time though, eh? The Mirror claims that while Arsene Wenger, Ivan Gazidis and the Emirates board are keen to begin their summer rebuilding programme in the next few days, the club will not be forced into selling Fabregas. Well, they should do if the wonga is right.

The paper says Barcelona vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu flew in to meet chief executive Gazidis and presented the Nou Camp side’s first offer. But unless Barca offer at least £45m, AW will not agree to let Fabregas return to the boyhood club he left eight years ago.

Meanwhile, the Mail says Arsenal rejected a £27million bid from Barcelona for the skipper, despite offering £35.5m last summer. The Guardian quotes Barca president Sandro Rosell: “Guardiola knows the values of players and Cesc’s is less than €40m (£35.4m). Barcelona will offer less and, if they don’t accept, then he won’t come.”

Me? I’d get shot of him now because it is clear his heart is not in it and he wants to leave. He’ll be a miserable sod (remember TH’s last season with us) and he is injured half the time anyway. Plus we won’t have to be annually cuckolded by the Catalan twots. Fair play, thanks for everything, let’s get some decent dosh and move on. What do you reckon?

Carl you’d be an idiot then to get rid of him. Arsenal would be the laughing stock of the entire world. All we have to do is show Cesc some ambition and he’ll want to stay. If AFC sold Cesc for under 45 million I would think they are spineless cowards.

I think you are spot on mate, The club say they would need at least £40m to replace him, but will they spend that figure if they get it? Will they fcuk! The closest players there is to Cesc that are apparantly available are Schneider and Modric valued also at around £35-£40m frankly i can see us using the Cesc cash to buy cheaper players that have potential. To be quite frank, £35m for a player that starts only 54% of matches and finishes only half of those and also clearly has his heart and mind elsewhere, is not that bad a figure. Now if we could squeeze a player deal out of them that would be my fave, David Villa and Affelay or Thiago, i would take that. I think Wenger is hanging out for the cash because he is not confident of getting much for

err, Carl what the f*ck are you on, what ever it is please pass it round it might make a Friday more bearable!

Whether Cesc wants to stay or, whether the board would spend the mooney or not, are both irrelevant. Cesc is worth a lot more than Barca are offering and if Arsenal let him go for a paltry sum, then every other club will believe they too can offer insulting amounts and that Arsenal will eventually cave in below the market price.

If Cesc cannot forget his wanting to move to Barca, then sell him, else let Cesc proclaim he has now decided to stay at AFC.
I agree that his heart was not there last season at all, he was clearly unhappy, imagine if he was happy last season, he would have done much better, and properly led the team.

I think the entire management of Arsenal would be fools to let Fabregas go for so little. If Barca was offering much more, then maybe, but at that low a price for such a young, talented player, they’d be shooting themselves in the foot if they let him go. And nowhere have I seen it stated that Fabregas wants to go to Barca RIGHT NOW. He always says he hopes he could eventually, or at some point, or in the future, etc. play for Barca. My feelings…he doesn’t want to go yet because he wants to play, not sit on the bench, and he’s just too polite to come out and say that to Barca and possibly close the door to returning.

Why oh why are Arsenal allowing Barcalona to get away with this behaviour?. they have been using their local rags to do their talking for them over the last couple of years. Report them for tapping up OUR player. If they want him pay what he is worth £45 million at least or tell them in the papers to piss off. He signed the improved contract so he knew what he was signibg up for. It’s a pity Real dont come in and bid £40 million plus. If he does go I would have liked to see Nasri play in Fabregas position but as he is doing the same I’m now not too sure about him either
this is an ongoing problem at Arsenal as we are not paying the same big money as other clubs and not competeing for trophies due to having a lot of players on good money who are not up to the job.

We do not have to sell to Barca. It is clear that his heart is gone from Arsenal so, keeping him will make no sense. Let us sell hi to the highest bidder even if it is Man City. I am sure if we open him him up for a bidding war, Man City will come up with the 54m pounds mentioned some time ago. With that, we can bring in Eden Hazard and Benzema or Eto’o. With the other anticipated additions at the back, we will surely be stronger.

Whatever happened to that £40M we got for Toure & Adebayor? www is right in that if we sold cesc we’d never spend whatever we got for him.

The last few years have taught us to expect nothing during the summer transfer window, except on transfer deadline day. However, the silence of some of our players with regards to quashing rumours they are leaving is deafening. It’s sickening to see a list of players wanting to jump a supposed sinking ship like rats. We need to call in pest control and get rid of the vermin.

I’ll support Wenger to the end, and still have faith, but this summer he cannot afford to rest on his laurels. We want a blockbuster signing to give us all a boost, like the Campbell or Reyes signings at the time.

Wenger has goofed up this year’s transfer window too. Last year he remained possessed with keeping Cesc and getting Cole. He couldnt get Cole, as usual, and lost Cesc’s heart for Arsenal.

How pathetic!! I havent ever heard of another club so bankrupt of ideas to replace their best player with another world-class player. Cant you get over this Cesc saga, Mr Arsehole Wenger????
