Alvarez To Sign For Arsenal This Week?

2595-a_alvarez_300x300

It appears that long-time Arsenal target Ricky Alvarez will finally complete his move to The Gunners, sometime this week.

Using his personal Twitter account, Alvarez today hinted that a move to Arsenal will be completed by the end of the week.

“This week I’ll surely have news regarding my future and I’ll tell you. I can’t tell you anything for now as a precaution. Hope you understand me!”

Currently at Vélez Sársfield, Alvarez has been linked with a number of European clubs including Inter Milan, but it appears that Arsenal have won the race and will sign the attacking midfielder from Argentina this week.

The 23-year old is expected to sign in a deal worth around €12m.

I'm 20 and have been an Arsenal season ticket holder since 2006. My family has had Arsenal links since the 1920's, and the support is still going strong. I am at every home game, and also manage to get to multiple away games, when I can. I have been writing for various blogs and websites since I was 15, but have now settled down and have become a regular writer for Arsenalinsider. I also run my own Pro Evolution Soccer blog, Only Pro Evolutions. Arsenal is my passion. Writing is my passion. I was never good enough to play for The Arsenal, so I'll do the next best thing!

That doesnt hint anything about arsenal :s

I fear years of not many big money transfers has the fans jumping on bandwagons with little to no substance…

We’ve been favourites, so it appears that we’re going to sign him. Nothing is for certain, but it LOOKS like he’ll be signing for Arsenal.

Please please please please please please please please please please please NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Lack of ambition plumbs a new level if this guy is ready for Arsenal. Where is Pastore? Or Eden Hazard? Or Schneider?

This is not knee jerk – hes played 50 games in his career! He isnt involved with the international team at 23. If this is Cescs replacement, or Narsi’s, then it seems Stan Kroenke’s red and white armys’ intentions are clear.

    Mid table.

Arsenal signings never reveal the deal until it is given go ahead by the club itself. So when the player is saying he cannot reveal his destination it means most probably he will end up at Arsenal

How can you say its to Arsenal? It could easily be Inter… I hope we see him in the Red and White because he is quality but at this point all we can do is wait and hope.

seriously? pastore – 45m, hazard – 30m, sneijder – who knows! are you going to pay for these players? alvarez actually looks pretty good and considering we need to strengthen other areas, it doesnt look a bad bit of business.

Him along with Juan mata would more than replace fabregas
If we get those two and centre and left backs
    We got ourselves some trophies

Hope to see this guy complete his move to Emirates. From whats floating around he looks like he’ll bring another dimension to creative side. Will he last in the PL is another matter. At least he’ll add a bit of height ;) Still would like to see a solid defensive signing first and foremost.

So everyone reckon Cesc is gonna be a Barca player by summers end? To be honest if we get the right sort of cash and sign Nasri to a new deal I think its for the best at this stage, if thats what Fab really wants to do at this point and time. Its best for the club if we get worthy compo; we need to freshen things up if his head and heart isn’t gonna be 100% in it.

Goonerz, We don’t know if this will happen or not, but you clearly know we’re not buying anyone else. How do you know this?
    Please, please, please explain.

We will not know for sure about any of these non-PL players until 1st July when the ‘international transfer window’ opens.

Had we purchased Hazard 2 seasons ago when he was first on our radar and loaned him back we’d have got him for a similar price to what we paid for Nasri. There’s no point in quoting those prices once the horse has bolted. Pastore would have been cheaper a few seasons ago but showing promise. Maybe you need to ask what the scouting team are doing overlooking the likes of these players and bringing in Squillaci and Koscielny oh not to forget Carl Jenkinson. The 5th richest football club on the planet doesn’t have a pot to piss in. What’s funnier than that are people who actually believe that’s true.

look Ricky Alvarez has shown promise, and I dont want to hear the arguments that we need to buy an “established” player like sneijder. He is inconsistant, and I dont think he is physically tough enough for the EPL. Remember no one knew who Nasri, wilshire, or fabregas was until wenger found them. I have a lot of faith in wenger’s eye for talent. Even the best managers dont get it right every time (cough: cough: bebe), but wenger usually does.
