According to reports, Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and striker Nicklas Bendtner are currently holding talks with unnamed clubs about transfers away from the North London club.
Arsenal travel to Asia today for a pre-season tour with a 23-man squad – Almunia and Bendtner are not included.
Arsene Wenger is due to shed more light on the situation in a press conference on Monday but the BBC cited an Arsenal spokesman who confirmed that the pair were left behind so they could negotiate contracts with other clubs.
Almunia joined the Gunners from Celta Vigo in 2004 and began the 2010-11 season as the first-choice keeper, but was eventually condemned to the bench due to a number of injuries and Wenger’s preference for Wojciech Szczesny.
Bendtner joined Arsenal in 2005 before being sent on loan to Birmingham City for a season, where he flourished.
The Norwegian has since made 98 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 22 goals.
