Arsenal set sell Cesc to Barca this week

Arsenal are negotiating to sell Cesc Fabregas and Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola says he is confident of landing the him very soon.
That’s the claim in the Sun this morning, which says the Catalans are close to getting their man despite seeing a £31.6million bid backed by AW.
Guardiola said: “We wanted Cesc last year but Arsenal did not put him on the market. This year, they have agreed to negotiate and we’ll try to reach a deal. There is money put aside for Cesc and, until the last day, we will try to bring him in because he will make the squad better.  Until August 31 there is time but things don’t always work out.”
The Mirror reports that Cesc has made it clear to AW that he wants to join Barca but that AW won’t be bullied into selling on the cheap. So he may be forced to stay at Arsenal unless Barcelona come up with the wonga.Fabregas is almost certain now to miss our friendly in Cologne on Saturday as the paper says “he insists he is not fully fit and is also waiting on Barcelona to make their next move”.

The paper adds that AW is trying to line up replacements for Fabregas and is chasing Bolton’s Gary Cahill, “although the £17m price is a sticking point”.

Other yarns doing the rounds this morning suggest that Arsenal have stepped up interest in Sao Paulo full-back Bruno Uvini, 20, and that we are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich for the signature of France ace Franck Ribery.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s youngsters hammered non-league Hastings United last night with a riotous 9-0 win on the south coast.

What a load of tabloid tosh! I expect this crap on Lie Sports News and on the usual sensationalist websites.

But on a supposed Arsenal site?

    WTF?

Pathetic rubbish yet again from this site. Going right down the drain this blog.

Cesc to Barca – the longest, most boring, most monotonous, anticlamitc transfer in Premiership footballing history. Even my fellow gunners are bored of the whole thing. Its no wonder even The Sun now relegates the story with far less coverage.

Tabloid nonsense in my view. Ok, I confess, love Barcelona as a city and have enormous respect for Catalans and this will not change. If you do not believe me, pay the place a visit. But why be Pep’s “tactical option” at Barca when you can become a legendary captain of Arsenal. Does not make sense. Fab 4 is truly Fab 4 and deserves a proper role at any club and there is plenty of time. Xavi will retire in a few years and that is the time for Fab 4 to move – as their new captain – he deserves nothing less. What is the hurry?

lads much as it pains me to say i believe
fabregas is already sold. this will not be announced till nearer the start of august.the reason it is been drawn out is so the board and aw can say its so near the new season no teams want to sell their players thus saving them another fortune. they will then sign a player for between 7-10 million to replace him with aw telling us the faith he has in this squad- europa league next season i fear

Happy for him to go, at the right price. The thing that bugs me is the low bids they keep making, with players like Tevez going for 50mil and this sanchez kid carrying a massive price tag, why is only 30mil on the table for cesc? Settle at 40mil and maybe AW will finally pull his finger out and strengthen the squad.

According to Wenger “there is no movement on Fabregas”, See today’s press conference report on Arsenal.com.

I don’t like what Barcelona is doing with Fabregas and Arsenal. The player signed a contract (a good one!) with the club, and Arsenal has the right to ask for what they think is a fair prize for the player. They are selling, so they decide the prize. If Barcelona really want to sign Cesc, they will have to pay what Arsenal is asking for!
