Patrick Vieira Reveals What Arsenal Need To Win Title

Patrick_Vieira

Arsenal legend, Patrick Vieira has revealed that he believes the current Gunners side are too weak, and need more players like him, if they are to win the Premier League again.

In an interview with The Metro, the Frenchman revealed that he believes that Arsene Wenger needs to invest in more physical players, like he did when the club won the double in 1998.

“Since I left Arsenal, there are new players, a new generation and maybe a new philosophy because Arsenal play better football than we used to do in my time,” revealed the Frenchman.

“But our team was more physical and responded better to the English game. We had everything, and maybe now Arsenal lack the physical aspect of the game. If you look at Manchester United, Chelsea and (Manchester) City, the physical aspect of the game is there.

“The big problem in the last few years has been the physical difference between Arsenal and other clubs.

“Look at the goalkeeper back then, you had the personality and presence of David Seaman. In defence you had players like (Tony) Adams, (Steve) Bould and (Martin) Keown and then myself and Emmanuel Petit in the midfield – it was a big, physical, intimidating team.

After retiring at the age of just 35-years old, Patrick has since swiftly moved on and has acquired the newly-created role of football development executive at Manchester City.

I don’t think anyone can hide from the obvious fact that Arsenal would struggle less often, if we had more players like Patrick Vieira in our side.

But it’s always easy to say what we need. The trouble, as Patrick should know, is the process of actually finding these players.

Sadly, like Arsene Wenger has come to realise, players like Patrick Vieira just don’t turn up from out of nowhere.

I'm 20 and have been an Arsenal season ticket holder since 2006. My family has had Arsenal links since the 1920's, and the support is still going strong. I am at every home game, and also manage to get to multiple away games, when I can. I have been writing for various blogs and websites since I was 15, but have now settled down and have become a regular writer for Arsenalinsider. I also run my own Pro Evolution Soccer blog, Only Pro Evolutions. Arsenal is my passion. Writing is my passion. I was never good enough to play for The Arsenal, so I'll do the next best thing!

Today,Arsenal style is killed themselves because in every games , players ran a lot of distance and multiple speed that destroyed their muscle. AW should accept the truth in his statisticreport. Passing tactic can do but not all the time of game should be use to control the game after they want to close the game. AW should concern about the 13 rd player like him to send the plan and tactic to the massenger in the pitch to make game control and goal from setplay and formation to goal like Mourinho showed last few years or Baseball or Basketball or American football done in every single mintues . The first of all ,Aw should change his mind because I believe in this squad will win the title with their quality that could play as AW order and demand.

Its not the players its the coaching.

Even in defence, the players have the ability, they just lack organisation and discipline which is down to bad coaching.
