Nasri tapped up by Evra to quit Arsenal for Manchester United

Patrice Evra can’t keep his nose out can he? It has emerged that the Manchester United defender has repeatedly been tapping up Samir Nasri to quit Arsenal for Old Trafford.

The Telegraph says Nasri, as he enters the final year of his contract, has shown an desire to move on this summer, citing a lack of success at the Emirates as his reason for wanting to take on a new challenge.

And Evra hopes a word with international team-mate Nasri can help United beat rivals City to his signature. He said: “I’ve talked a lot with him in the holidays and told him how great it is to play for Manchester United and how important it would be for him to become one of the biggest players in the world.”

They report Evra saying: ”I remember I made that little joke saying that he’s a prince now but if he wants to be the king then he has to join Man United. But that’s the reality – and I’ve told him that. I said, ‘If you want to win trophies, you have to come here’.

“In five years I’ve won 12 trophies and I don’t know if I’d have won more than that with another club. So I just told him the truth. I don’t know how negotiations are at the moment but he has a lot of clubs interested in him and he has to think.

“I just told him how good it would be for him coming here. He will have a nice welcome and I can help as well because I’m French. We’ve spoken a lot in the summer and also when we met up for friendly games with France at the end of the season. It was looking interesting but I don’t know, we’ll have to see.

“I don’t know how negotiations are at the moment, but he has a lot of clubs interested in him and he has to think. I just told him how good it would be for him coming here. He will have a nice welcome, and I can help as well because I’m French.”

Asked if any clubs had tapped up his players, AW told the Telegraph: “I would like to return the question to you. What do you think? We live in a realistic world. I do not want to assess what I cannot prove, but I know how things happen. It doesn’t necessarily go through the player or the agent, but I think it is a rule that has to be reviewed. It’s not really respected.”

In the Mail, discussing how many players would be coming and going at the Emirates before the closure of the transfer window, AW replied: “It’s not the number, it’s the quality. How many will leave the club? I said from the start I will fight to keep everybody. Nicklas Bendtner might go and Emmanuel Eboue might go. They can talk to clubs, but the rest I will fight.”

The real problem about this story is the fact that Man Utd have called off the chase for Sneidjer, and one cannot help but think that the prospect of Nasri coming next year has given the Mancs the option of saving alot of money, whilst we lose over £20 million.
When have we ever been in business to support our biggest rival?
But not just on the field but financially too? Man Utd could do with saving money to pay their loans and to square the UEFA FFP rules.

The club have to sort this out. Either sell Nasri now or insist on a new contract. Anything else is just not acceptable.

We have become an absolute laughing stock BEFORE the season has even started
WENGER – SORT IT OUT NOW…!

Totally agree FTK – i cant believe what I am seeing before my eyes – who is running AFC now? It would seem the players are holding all the power. AW made Nasri the player he is, if he doesn’t want to respect that and sign a new deal then let him leave. Personally, I think the press have got this all wrong. I think he is waiting to see what AW does in the transfer market and the press are just scaremongering.

What is the hold up with AW signing new players? If its the fab saga holding everything up – put an ultimatum on it and get it done and dusted, can Barca even afford him now sanchez has signed?

I am feeling a struggle for top 6 at the moment, however if Fab can be sold at the right price and the squad reinforced, then we have a real chance.

On the last point – is anybody else concerned we are yet to be linked to a new GK?

This `tapping up` business boils down to two mates having a chat and having a joke, there`s nothing illegal or immoral about that.Next thing we know they`ll have to sign the Official Secrets Act.
They`re entitled to voice their opinions to each other in private.

I think that if Fab goes, which I think he should (Hleb is no longer warming the bench so they need someone else to!) then Nasri will stay and will play that central role he is hoping for.

As for Fab, £35 + Bojan and Thiago sounds like a deal to me. That gives wenger £70mil to spend (which we all know he wont)

Personally I would like to see Samba brought in, maybe even Sakho? Not sure about LB – I feel we need more experience than Gibbs. GK – we should have paid up for Steklenberg but maybe now Akinfeev? Mata would be a great signing, but AW wont pay 20mil for him, so I expect the young kid from the south coast to arrive plus cambell.

I feel like I am playing football manager now!

I think Evra needs to understand that Nasri is tied to another club, and so should SHUT HIS BIG MOUTH UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no point in doing all that, when he knows the player has a contact elsewhere. He needs to be taught to respect the sovereignty of the club that owns the rights of the player and concentrate on righting his behaviour that led to him being banned by the FFF after the World Cup fiasco. Fuck off Evra, and mind your business.

At the end of the day, no matter what any poison little shitbag like evra says shouldn’t make any difference to any of players, they know the score, either they want to play for the Arsenal or not.

Personally I think utd will be weaker this season, so be careful little “prince”, you may, like hleb and others turn out to be the jester, cos if they fail to conquer I’m sure our fans will be laughing at you.

Where does this £20m figure come from?
I know it’s mentioned in every lie-paper but I can’t work out how a player with only 1 year left on his contract is valued at 20m….
