Bendtner Ready For Arsenal Exit

Nicklas Bendtner has confirmed that he will leave Arsenal before the transfer window closes.

The 23-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Emirates throughout the summer and it now seems a move will materialise in the coming weeks.

Bendtner missed the majority of the campaign through injury last year and now appears ready for a fresh challenge after falling out of manager Arsene Wenger’s favour.

Asked if he was poised to leave Arsenal the striker, on international duty with Denmark ahead of their friendly game against Scotland on Wednesday, replied: “Yes. I have done my part as well as I can and it’s up to Arsenal now to sort it out, I can’t do anything more.

“Hopefully it will be sorted soon but as I said to the Danish press, when I know something they will.

“I would like to play at a place where you are happy and play every week, that is the most important thing for any football player and hopefully that will happen soon.”

Stoke City are one team in the Premier League that have been continually linked with a move for the Dane.

But he was coy when pressed on whether they were one of the suitors he had spoken too.

He laughed and added: “I can’t say anything about who I have been speaking to, but hopefully it will get sorted soon.”

It’s a pity Bendtner couldn’t transfer his mouth to his feet during the games he played and scored a few more goals, then he might still be welcome at Arsenal. But his head is so big I’m surprised it can get through the door

Some people sure do have short term memories , especially supposed Arsenal supporters.

Nick had a great goal scoring percentage especially when he played in his preferred position. I wish I could know how many goals he scored when he played minutes as a center forward instead of being stuck out in a wing positiion. Easily 50%. scoring conversion rate..

I remember vividly Nick coming in as a substitute in the last half scoring key goals for the team on many occassions…

I also remember a couple of seasons ago (Mar thru April) with our front line strikers all nursing injuries that Nick provided all of the key goals, in the last few minutes of regular time or injury time, that allowed us to tie or win super important games. The points we earned enabled us to hang in there for 4th place that season.

Nick. I also remember you in games missing sitter after sitter and holding your head in disbelief after every one…… It was unfortunate but it really didnt cost us many points in league play, just embarassment at your remarkable moments of inaccuracy and humility. To your credit though, you continued to believe in yourself and scored in other games to make up for it

Nick we will miss you and I wish you were staying with the team this season. Chamach, a very nice person, simply does not leave anyone with confidence that he can fill in for RVP when he gets injured this season ( hopefully not for too long ).

I know you are going to settle into a central striker role with some fortunate team and shoot the lights out for them, sigh!!! I sure wish it were Arsenal.

Best of luck in the future……

For all the “fake Arsenal supporters”
who will have a heart attack at these words of support, shove it where the sun doesnt shine..You will not appreciate how good we had it with Nick until he is no longer with us.

Well he was wasted by Wenger who stuck him out on the wing .. if he even got any time on the pitch. Wenger habitually makes them play where it suits his inflexible formation (Reyes, Wiltord, Bendtner, Denilson, Walcott ?) Then there are complaints when they can’t perform there.

Where Bednter did himself no good was to give it large and then fail to deliver.

Anyway I bet we will still be picking up part of his wage tab if he goes on loan.

Bendtner had a great potential that was just not realised. He has been an expensive bench warmer for much of his time at Arsenal and the lack of clubs queuing up to sign him speaks volumes for the players overated self opinion.

He should not be the last to leave during the transfer window.

Wenger is responsible for the lack of progress from Bendtner. As Keith said earlier he did play well for us at time in his preferred role. The bloke is a centre forward and scores for Denmark in that role. Wenger plays him on the wing where he is not suited. Other clubs aren’t queuing up to buy him because they only see his perfomances in that position.
