Wenger set to splash £10m to bring Jadson to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has  already moved to replace Cesc Fabregas with Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson coming to Arsenal, according to reports. We are on the verge of losing Cesc to Barcelona in a deal worth up to £36million, and it seems AW has wasted no time in trying to secure a replacement.

French paper L’Equipe claims the little Brazilian is already in London with his agent, waiting to agree a fee. Although Jadson is contracted to Shakhtar until December 2014, an offer of around £10million is likely to be enough to prize away the midfielder, 27.

AW has admitted Cesc and Samir Nasri are both close to finalising moves away from the club. Nasri is set to move to Manchester City with the clubs close to agreeing a fee between £22m and £24m.

“We hope it will be sorted out very quickly one way or the other,” Wenger said of Fabregas. “The Nasri situation is stable. Again it is very difficult to speak about possible transfers but we are in a situation where we have to make decisions one way or the other. Ideally you want it to be sorted out before the season starts.”

The Mail says a month ago, AW was optimistic of keeping both players, but he has been disappointed by Fabregas’s sulking,  and the Arsenal board decided to cash in on Nasri once it became clear he was not going to extend his contract.

Meanwhile, the Mirror claims AW will reinvest money from selling Cesc and Nasri to buy Valencia forward Juan Mata and at least one centre-back. Bolton’s Gary Cahill, Everton’s Phil Jagielka, Werder Bremen’s Per Mertesacker and Birmingham City’s Scott Dann are all on his list.

Other reports say we have opened talks with Birmingham over Dann, and hope to conclude transfer discussions quickly in order to register the defender before Saturday’s opening game against Newcastle.

Mug, do you know anything?? It can only be done when the deal has been agreed.  If Barca offered 15M a month ago should we have sold him?  Some AFC fans are so dumb.  It is actually embarrassing.

How are you meant to work out before you buy them, which players are going to love the club and which aren’t.

The truth is, if we had been winning trophies every year, all of the players in the squad would love the club.

We didn’t know Cesc was leaving in June – Barca are skint and that’s why they resorted to unsettling tactics to get Cesc and they haven’t even got him yet (probably spurred into action when they saw Wenger include him in the CL squad). In fact, the only people that seemed to “know” that Cesc was leaving were the pessimistic bunch who call themselves supporters and the media who feed them.

Wenger has never panic-bought, he never will as we have extremely talented players who we should allow to step into Cesc’s shoes (Ramsey needs games, Wilshere needs to come into his own and Lansbury needs a chance – making Cesc’s sale somewhat necessary).

With Gervinho, Miyaichi and Ox now added to the squad and 4-3-3-centric Cesc possibly leaving, we don’t even need a Nasri replacement and can actually revert back to the speed-based 4-4-2 of old (Walcott, Miyaichi, Ox and Gervinho together must be the paciest attack in the Premier League) Furthermore, we can only sign replacements AFTER players leave – most of the clubs in the world do this and that’s how football works in the real life.

It seems that Silent Stan may have had a few words in Gazidis’ ear, when he attended the open day,  those words were likely to be “sell Nasri, I’m not going to miss out on £20 million by letting him go on a Bosman, and sort out the Fabregas farce, £35 million will do.  Now get it done!”

Then it seems he has been listening to what the ‘fans’ want. Most of the people I know in london who go to games don’t want Cesc or Nasri to leave but loads of supposed fans on blogs and forums seem to.

I agree that in an ideal world Fabregas and Nasri would stay at the club, give 100% commitment and strive to win the trophies they so yearn for.  Unfortunately they both want to leave and pursue their dreams elsewhere, so what’s the point in trying to keep them?  Sell them, invest the fees in the team and move on!

So only real fans go to the games?
Not every fan can travel to London at a specific time for many reasons including living thousands of miles away, that doesn’t make them any lesser a fan than the ones you appear to be describing.

Also, nobody yet knows whether either player will leave or not as there’s so much crap being written unofficially. Let’s wait and find out.
