No Date Set For The Return Of Wilshere

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is refusing to set a return date on when Jack Wilshere will be available for selection.

The England international is struggling with an ankle injury that forced him to withdraw from the squad to face Holland, a match that was later called off due to the unrest in London.

Wenger is hopeful the youngster, who is now wearing a protective boot in order to aid his recovery, will be back in action sooner rather than later.

“Jack Wilshere has been put in a boot,” Wenger told the club’s official website.

“He has an inflamed ankle and it is difficult to set any specific date on his return, but we hope he will be back soon.”

On another of his midfield casualties, the Gunners boss added: “Abou Diaby is slowly improving.

“As well, it is difficult to say when he will be back, but we know he will not play before the end of September.”
