Arsenal new boy Arteta gets young Gunners buzzin’

Arsenal new boy Mikel Arteta is a quality signing judging by the impression he made on the young Gunners he trained with this morning. Arsene Wenger splashed out £10million for the Spanish midfielder from Everton as the transfer window closed on deadline day on a four-year deal. The purchase of the player was seen as a direct replacement for Cesc Farbregas.

And while the majority of our senios players have been on international duty, Arteta, 29, has been training with the reserves. Youngster Connor Henderson has just tweeted: “All the ressies just come in from training absolutely BUZZIN off Arteta… Said he was unreal! Can’t wait to see him play now!”

That could well happen on Saturday when Arteta is expected to make his Gunners debut at the Emirates in the Premier Leage encounter with top flight new boys Swansea. With Jack Wilshere missing from the midfield for at least two months, it isn’t beyond the realms of credulity to suppose that Arteta will join Rambo and Alex Song in the heart of the Arsenal middle as the season progresses.

    Look after our Mikel. Absolute quality player, adored by many at Goodison. Not been quite his best since his injury but Arsenal’s play should suit him. Good Luck to Mikel and the Gunners.

    Song may well find his position under threat from Frimpong. Song has a terrible disciplinary record and he’s slower than Frimpong too. Frimpong is prone to mistakes but will grow into the position as we know this is not the first ban Song will receive this season.
    As for Ramsey he would want to start showing the form he had before his injury. He is by no means guaranteed a place on the squad anymore, he is more and more looking like a Denilson type player. Too slow on the ball, always looking for a sideways pass and getting caught out when under little or no pressure.
    He may well find his place threatened by Coquelin who actually played well against United and looks like the kind of player Rambo used to be.

    Remember when Rambo played like that? He was immense, at times he was unplayable because he was unafraid and more than willing to be audacious, he seems to have the fear in him now, the fear of injury and the fear of responsibility on the ball. Hopefully having Arteta beside him will wake him up because when Wilshere does return you can bet that he will be picked first. 
    I’m more happy that Walcott now has competition hopefully it will force him to up his game. With Chamberlain and Benayoun waiting in the wings he finally has reason to compete for a place.

    frimpong can play again because he has been booked twice, and that means that he couldn’t play the ManU match, but he can play now.
    and don’t forget that we have also another optin as DM, it’s Djourou! that’s the position he was used to before switching to CD…
    so it will be Frimpong/Ramsey/Arteta for the saturday game.
    and we may have something like Song/Frimpong/Arteta for the Blackburn and Bolton Games…

    Frimpong is certain to take Songs place in the team. Song should be a centre-half again.

    Arteta will be playing every game if if he is fit. It’s a case of who is playing with Arteta. When Wilshere is fit, he and Ramsey wil tale it in turns to partner Arteta with either Frimpong or Song as the 3rd man.

    Think of Cesc. If he was in the team, would you be saying there’s a good chance Cesc might play on Saturday? I think youknow he would be an automatic selection. Well Arteta has been bought as a Cesc replacement.
