Arsenal boost as Wilshere tweets: I’ll be back soon

At last some good new for Gooners. Injured midfielder Jack Wilshere is seemingly ahead of time in his race to win back his fitness after suffering an ankle problem. The young star used his Twitter account to tell his army of followers that he has had a decent day and that he hopes to be back involved in the action any time soon.

He tweeted: “Good day at football today! In the gym again! Ankle feeling a lot better hope to be back playing soon!”

Wilshere is yet to play for the Gunners this season and it was first feared may not make his first start for the club until November, or even as late as December. But he has made good progress it seems.

Wilshere originally took to Twitter to confirm the injury news, and revealed he will be spending long hours in the gym to get fit.  He said: ‘I can confirm I will be out for around 2-3 months! I am working hard in the gym to stay fit and I am gutted but I will be back stronger!’

Given our poor form it comes as a massive boost to be told he is on the mend. My how we have missed him. Next we need TV5 to report in and tell us he is back soon too.

I hope he doesn’t rush back because of the on-field problems. We have enough quality and experience to manage without him for a while, and it’s better to ensure he is fully recovered so that he doesn’t suffer further injuries. At his age he shouldn’t be playing so many games anyway – especially in this league. Look what happened to cesc – one of the reasons he managed to break into the team so young was that he very rarely missed matches when he was younger, but over time, the league broke him down, and he ended up playing half a season or less. The last thing we want is for the same thing to happen to jack.

He said “hope to be back soon,” not “I’ll be back soon.” There’s a big difference.
