Brady on a bike! The tabloid transfer-o-meter haas been cranked up a notch this morning in the papers with speculative stories abound pertaining to the team supported by venerable leader of Cuba, Fidel Castro (apparently he is a long-standing Gooner).
A quick run through the tales that have made the back pages to kick things off this morning and first up we have the yarn doing the round that Theo Walcott is now a top target for Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola. Apparently, he wants to add more wide options to his side and he’ll grab Theo to offer that.
Yeah, right.
Next up is the tale that our opponents tonight in the Champions League clash at the Emirates, Borussia Dortmund, have ruled out a January move to Arsenal for 19-year-old forward Mario Gotze.
Meanwhile our leader has had a dig at the team that dare not speak its name as well as one of our former players and the Premier League loan system. AW says in the Mirror that Emmanuel Adebayor’s loan spell at ********* is unfair, as he is allowed to play against all the top sides except Manchester City, who own him.
There are more thoughts of Chairman Wenger in the Mail. He tells the paper that our players should not let the battle for London supremacy interfere with our European aspirations.
Also, there is a decent read in the Express this morning, with a Matt Law interview with Wojciech Szczesny that is reasonably enlightening.
Talking of the confident Pole, the great living legend that is Bob Wilson gives his take on Szczesny in the Independent and reckons he is “as valuable as Van Persie” to the team.
So, let’s nick a win tonight, eh, lads – I’ll be trying a post-macth livener or two in the White Horse at Shoreditch, possibly the Famous Cock, and the Metro. Be nice to rest easy for a bit knowing that we have CL football in the bag. Meanwhile, over on TV on Thursday nigths…
