Arsenal will have to stump up £16m to land Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud. Reports suggest the Gunners have been tracking the 25-year-old for a while and a January offer was considered before Arsene Wenger decided to put the bid on hold.
It’s reported that if Giroud continues to perform for the French club for the rest of the season an offer will be forthcoming from Arsenal. Juventus are also said to be interested in the player who has scored 28 goals in 59 games since arriving from Tours.
Montpellier have valued him at £16m and hope to “spark an auction” between Arsenal and Juventus in the summer. Giroud has played twice for France and is expected to be involved against England in Euro12.
Meanwhile, AW has had a dig at the San Siro pitch last night ahead of tonight’s CL clash with AC Milan AW arrived in Milan to find two large sections had been relaid.
