Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has admitted he has enjoyed watching the forces of evil ply their trade in the Premier League this season.
The team that dare not speak its name are currently ten points ahead of the Arsenal in the table and are still in the FA Cup – but, of course, that’ll all change this afternoon when minnows Stevenage beat them (you read it here first).
Arsene Wenger’s deflated troops couldn’t muster a fight against Sunderland at the half-empty Stadium of Shite yesterday and the 2-0 reverse means, in all probability, we have gone yet another season without silverware.
The 4-0 defeat against AC Milan in the San Siro in the Champions League means progress is highly unlikely and, seemingly, our only goal this season now is to secure a place in the top four.
And to rub it in, Harold Redknapp’s festering chaps have enjoyed what is, for them, a successful season so far.
Their form has prompted former defender Lee Dixon, now a BBC pundit, to make the shock admission although to be fair to him he does stick up for the Gunners as well.
In an exclusive interview with Arsenalinsider, he revealed: “I’ve loved watching Tottenham this year I think they have been an inspiration at times some of the football they played is arguably some of the best football we’ve seen.
“They attack with pace they have got some great, skilful players, they are solid as the back as well and they’re a real pleasure to watch. Obviously, I’d prefer it to be the other way round with Arsenal a force to be reckoned with but it all goes round in circles and it’s Tottenham’s turn at the moment.”
