It seems Arsene Wenger will indeed take the Arsenal to Nigeria this summer after it was announced that the Gunners will face a team who go by the name of Dolphins.
They are the Nigeria champions and it is being reported that they have become the first team to confirm a fixture with Arsenal when the English Premier League club visits the country on their summer tour.
Arsenal have already confirmed friendly matches in Hong Kong and China and it is believed the club will announce a game in South Korea, too. A bloke called Dumbor Awanem, Dolphins general manage says the decision was reached at a meeting with Arsenal representatives.
He added: “A lot of other states are trying to lure the Arsenal team to their states, but they have said they want to see a club that can actually give them still opposition and Dolphins fit that bill. “With this I can confirm to you that Arsenal will come to Port Harcourt to play against Dolphins’ in the summer.
“It’s not every time you get a club like Arsenal coming to your country or your stadium and we want to make the best of this.” Reports also suggest Arsenal will play at least one game during the visit. BTW, a point of interest (possibly) Brighton were nicknamed the Dolphins before they adopted the Seagulls tag.
