Following on from Wednesday evening’s one nil win over Everton, next up is a tasty home fixture against Aston Villa. Currently lying in fifteenth place, their last six away matches in the Premiership have resulted in D D L L W D. Villa’s best away result this season came in December when they beat Chelsea 1 – 3.
A 3pm Saturday kick-off, on what is forecast to be a fine Spring day, should ensure a full house at The Home of Football. However, what is more likely to draw in the faithful is The Gunners impressive run of seven games unbeaten including a glorious six wins on the trot. This remarkable run has seen Arsenal not only closing the gap but overtaking the lily-livered, sorry! the Lilywhites to move into third place.
Back in December an equalising penalty by van Persie and a late strike, from a corner, by Yossi Benayoun was enough to win The Gunners all three points at Villa Park.
===================================
With no new injuries reported (how nice it is to be able to say that) I can’t see that Le Professeur will make wholesale changes to the line-up that defeated Everton. Perhaps Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could come in on the left in place of Ramsey who appeared a bit rusty and over anxious in front of goal. The youngster’s strength and directness can prove more effective than the Welshman’s more laboured build up play.

By the time the match kicks off the result of the lunchtime fixture between Chelsea and Spurs will be known and our boys will be aware of the league standings. Regardless of events in West London it is vital that we continue on the winning run and take another three points, a third place finish is entirely in our own hands.
Final Thought
Once again the Emirates crowd must play it’s part, sing, cheer, clap your hands and stamp your feet.
Roar the Gunners on to victory!
