Backpage roundup: Villa swap, Niang’s the man, Lloris going somewhere. Maybe.

Moses ready to part?

According to the Daily Mail, Wigan’s Victor Moses is being lined up as a replacement for Theo Walcott if he decides to leave in the wake of Robin van Persie’s refusal to sign a new contract.

The report says Walcott is unhappy with the offer of a new four-year deal, and Arsène Wenger is alleged to be willing to let the speedy forward leave at the right price, rumoured to be around £15 million.

High price tag for Jovetic

TalkSport is reporting that Arsenal are one of many teams chasing Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic, and that a price tag of €30 million has been slapped on his head to fend off interest.

Chelsea and Liverpool are both rumoured to be chasing the 22-year-old striker. Fiorentina have also denied interest in rumours linking the Italian side with a move for out of favour striker Marouane Chamakh.

Toulouse midfielder interests Gunners

Etienne Capoue, 23, is the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to The Emirates. Apparently a £9.5 million offer would be the minimum requirement. Barcelona are also being linked with the star.

Niang Caen impress Wenger

Arsenal may offer a trial to 17-year-old French future star striker M’Baye Niang, who is also being tracked by Newcastle and Stoke, according to Sporting Life.

No Montpellier exodus

French champions Montpellier, who earlier this summer sold Olivier Giroud to Arsenal, are denying that another of their top stars, Younes Belhanda, 22, is heading in the same direction.

Metro is reporting that the club is offering an increase in wages to prevent the Moroccan from joining Arsenal or Liverpool.

Van Persie for Villa?

No, not Aston Villa, but sport.es is stating that a potential swap is possible between Barcelona and Arsenal that would see Robin van Persie heading to Spain in return for David Villa. The 30-year-old is reportedly on the block to raise the funds for a van Persie bid, but a swap deal is also on the table. Unless Sky Sports report is correct that van Persie is pulling a Rooney-esque u-turn and staying at the Emirates.

North London, maybe – but where?

talkSPORT says that top French goalie Hugo Lloris, 25, is heading for Arsenal. According to the report, Lyon are waiting to sign a replacement before making the deal final. The fee is reported to be £12 million, however, other rumours have the keeper bound for White Hart Lane in a £20 million deal.
