EXCLUSIVE: We tea up N'Zogbia for Arsene

by CARL ELDRIDGE As you know money is no object here at arsenalinsider and to prove this we have just splashed out an indecent bundle of cash on our very own digital 'speculometer'. This shiny, state-of-the-art device ingests data on possible comings and goings at the Arsenal and gives a scientific read-out of probability on the transfer in question actually taking place. We have also donated the remainder of our tea money jar to AW and have urged him to snap up Wigan's Charles NZogbia.

Le Boss has installed the machine and wired me up to it so I am going to put it through its paces today and throughout the summer to try to give you a steer on the possible ins and outs at the home of football. At this point it is worth remembering AW's comments on his policy given that the World Cup is around the corner.

He said: "The World Cup will not affect our recruitment. It is dangerous to buy on the back of a World Cup. The prices are artificial and you have to bear in mind that anyone can have three weeks of glory. To have 10 years of success is quite different.

"With the season drawing to a close, people are inevitably looking to discuss our transfer targets. I do have targets and have been talking to people but I cannot mention any names at the moment. The earlier you settle your teams for the next season the better it is and the less anxiety you have."

Of course, we have to rely on various sources at the club and the national newspapers and this morning the Daily Mail says AW's head talent spotter, Steve Rowley, has checked out 'summer targets' Phil Jones and Steven N’Zonzi from Blackburn.
Defensive midfielder N’Zonzi has been a virtual ever present for Blackburn since moving from French side Amiens and the paper says that fact appeals to Wenger. Defender Jones, at 18, has youth on his side and if AW can get the two as a job lot he may be able to cut a deal.

Speculometer rating: N'Zonzi, Steven - chances are even; Jones, Phil - no deal.

We don't need reminding that we are in desperate need of a new No.1 and reports suggest AZ Alkmaar’s £8million rated Argentina international Sergio Romero would fit the bill for the glorious Gunners. I can't help but think that Joe Hart is a better fit, though, given his knowledge of the Premier League and his outstanding displays against teams and strikers he will be facing again next season, hopefully in an Arsenal shirt.

Then there is Fiorentina's French keeper Sebastien Frey, a player AW has reportedly had on his radar for some time. Frey is 30 (not that old for a No.1) and given that the boss seems to have changed his mind about signing older players (Sol Campbell) this move could make sense. Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich are also being linked with Frey after a fine season in Serie A.

Speculometer rating: No surge for Sergio; Frey's had his day; Hart gets the part.

Okay, the speculometer is starting to shudder and there is steam coming out so I'll switch it off for the time being and let it rest easy ahead of more transfer tittle-tattle coming soon.

It's lazy journalism. we play blackburn this weekend and we always seem to get linked with a player from the team we are about to play. I think they are trying to gee up the players so they have a stormer against us.

If anyone seriously thinks the AZ goalkeeper will solve the problems they are mad
We saw how bad he was at the Emirates this season . the keeper is a joke and one of the rare goalkeepers that is worse than Fabianski

Bendtner. He's getting better all the time, maybe not fast enough for some but Ibra hasn't been great this season so perhaps he's on the way out? :D

Romero is Argentina No. 1 for the World Cup. But I like more Hart.

The problem with Hart is convincing City to sell him to us.

If they convinced Arsene to sell Kolo and Adebayor I think Arsene could convince them to sell Hart.

Given is a great keeper and they cant keep Hart on loan for 4 or 5 years.

They´re also looking for an experienced RB so why not Eboue + 15 millions for Hart and Richards?? Or at least Eboue for Hart.
