Arsenal transfer news that doesn’t involve Adebayor!

I just wanted to provide a quick update on some transfer news that makes slightly less headlines than Ade’s imminent exit.

Why the loss of Ade-ego-bayor will strengthen our team…!

Soon the news will confirm that Adebayor is a Manchester City player, the fee rumoured to be between 22 and 25 million pounds, a salary estimated £150 thousand pounds a week. I have been no supporter of Adebayor, as people who regular read this blog will appreciate. I really don’t care what happens to him, I […]

Wenger hints at new approach to transfer window

With Arsenal’s first summer signing now complete, Arsene Wenger has stuck to form by capturing yet another reasonably unheard of name, however, this time he seems to have gone about his business in a more objective manner.

Vermaelen signs for Arsenal!

The most eagerly awaited news of the day has finally be announced on the official club site. Thomas Vermaelen is thought to have accepted a four year contract and will no doubt be playing pre-season.

Thomas Vermaelen to join the Gunners tomorrow? Videos and profile.

According to Thomas Vermaelen himself, he is set to become the latest acquisition to Arsenal Football Club. He is a no nonsense utility defender who has excellent heading ability. These are good times when Gooners get regular briefings from a player about the expected signing and medical. It tends to indicate that the player is […]

Arsenal and Man City both after £12m Bosnian hotshot striker Edin Dzeko

Morning insiders, not too much happening again today after Englands 4-0 win yeaterday. Fabregas The King should be back from his holidays tomorrow, as for today this story in the Sunday Mail caught my eye.

Is this summer’s transfer window going to be the most significant ever?

Morning Insiders, another weekend is upon us, another Saturday when I have to find something to do without football in my life… Want to thank Dan Jackson who sent this blog accross about summer transfers.

Cesc – The Actual Interview/Internationals/Citeh

Sky Sports News went large yesterday on transfer speculation surrounding Cesc Fábregas. You can count on the English speaking media to take a couple of days to find somebody who can do the really complicated stuff like find somebody who speaks Spanish. The Sky Sports News piece is based on a story that appeared in […]

Transferring Agony -reflections post Arshavin

Here’s the latest in a series of articles where I’m trying to shine a light on the business interactions of football in order to give Gooners a modicum of understanding of the business world which the Arsenal inhabits. You don’t need me to tell you how painful it is being a Gooner when the transfer […]

IT’S OFFICIAL! ARSHAVIN IS A GUNNER, ARSHAVIN IS A GUNNER LALALA, LALALALA!

Well at last Arsenal Football Club have just released the news on its official website that Andrey Arshavin has signed for our club, also subject to the granting of a work permit. You can confirm this here. This transfer has been one of the most protracted deals based upon media misinformation and the other side (Zenit) making mischief […]

Breaking News – ARSHAVIN flying to London, will arrive at 2pm

The transfer saga that had more twists and turns than a belly dancer’s navel should come to an end very soon with the news from SkySports that Andrei Arshavin is currently aboard a flight from Dubai heading for Heathrow airport, he is expected to land around 2pm. The reporter from Dubai, David Livingstone confirmed my observations earlier […]

Personal terms hold up final completion of Andrei Arshavin transfer – factfile and photofit here.

The deal agreed between Arsenal and Zenit has now finally been announced by Zenit St Petersburg on it’s website and in due course, as I revealed on Friday, it was subject to personal terms, which contrary to some misinformed sources had not been agreed.  Put as best as I can, from the russian translation, Zenit have suggested a […]

Zenit try to squeeze one more million from Gunners

With the headlines hogged by Cook’s comments that Milan has “bottled” the atrocious £108 million deal to take Kaka to City, it seemed like Zenit had “bottled” it too when Arsenal’s renewed bid was rejected again. Arshavin’s agent is quoted as saying Zenit is acting barbaric with demands of £20 million transfer fee and he […]

Zenit accept 15million for Arshavin, Deal subject to personal terms being agreed.

Several sources are reporting that Zenit St Petersburg have finally moved to end this protracted transfer saga when it became clear yesterday that Manchester City were not interested in making an offer for the player.

The Kaká transfer saga and what it means to football

Again, small hiatus since my last writing but things are certainly looking up since that post – unbeaten in 8, RVP & Nasri are filling the whole left by Cesc’s knee and it feels like the Arsenal has turned a corner. However – this is not what I’m going to be writing about. Be prepared, […]

TRANSFER WINDOW – RUMOURS, RUMOURS EVERYWHERE AND NOT A DROP OF FACT

25 days until the transfer window bangs shut again until July at midnight on 2 February. We’re only nine days in and I’m already heartily sick of all the speculation. For what it’s worth, here’s the latest batch, mainly from the Spanish sports newspapers El Mundo Deportivo, AS and Marca:

ARSHAVIN – IS HE IS OR IS HE AIN’T GONNA BE A GUNNER?/UNITED COLOURS OF ARSENAL

The media has gone Andrei Arshavin-listic in the last 24 hours. Reports have him and his other half plotting up at the Landmark Hotel in London. Others have his club Zenit St Petersburg still trying to jack up the price.

Breaking News: Sources suggest Kolo Toure is finally leaving the Arsenal

Rumours at the weekend that were rife suggesting that Kolo Toure was being sold appear to have gained some credibility this afternoon after sources confirm that he was seen clearing his locker and saying goodbye to acquaintances. If this is really true, and all transfer rumours carry a health warning until officially confirmed by the club, then this would end a six […]

TWO STEPS FORWARD, ONE STEP BACK? TRANSFER RUMOURS

Sorry I haven’t been with you this past week my fellow Gooners. Normally service is now resumed chez Crescit!

Cesc to Barca not again and My greatest Arsenal team

CESC TO BARCA – HERE WE GO AGAIN! Just when you thought it was safe – it starts up anew. Those seekers after truth at the Daily Star are splashing on Cesc to Barca rumours again. The story has also been picked up by the Spanish sports daily Marca, quoting a “source” at the Nou […]

Good luck to The Arsenal, because we are going to need it…

The final day of the transfer window has always been exciting, however if you were an Arsenal fan it was frankly depressing. Manchester City got taken over and broke the transfer record for Robinho all in one day. The Abu Dhabi syndicate have the spending power of ten Chelsea Football clubs, and the shock waves […]

Our lack of transfer activity is the price of trying to be the conscience of the Premier League…

Arsene Wenger’s recent outburst about banning clubs with a large deficit from UEFA competitions would end the super club status so coveted of Billionaire owners. This scenario would amount to a cap on transfer fees and excessive wage demands. Clubs would have to spend only what they earned, and if they exceeded a percentage limit […]

Arsenal announce signing of Mikael Silvestre

Hi Insiders – sorry FTK is away until tomorrow and i’m out for the night so here is the signing news direct from Arsenal.com. More info on this signing will appear tomorrow. Arsenal has today signed French defender Mikael Silvestre on a two year deal having joined the Gunners from Manchester United for an undisclosed […]

Is Huntelaar really the answer?

Is Huntelaar really the answer? We’ve gathered that he is currently one of the most prolific players in Europe, but is this Dutch striker really the ideal replacement to the seemingly Milan-bound Adebayor? He is a typical poacher, who began at De Graafschap and has worked his way around a number of Dutch clubs […]

Would no signings really be such a bad thing?

What if Arsenal were to start next season without adding any players? For a lot of people this would be a disaster, I’m not so sure myself. It seems a very hypothetical question, but it is one that is worth answering I feel, and I’m very curious to hear other people’s opinions on this. Although, […]
