Zenit accept 15million for Arshavin, Deal subject to personal terms being agreed.

Several sources are reporting that Zenit St Petersburg have finally moved to end this protracted transfer saga when it became clear yesterday that Manchester City were not interested in making an offer for the player.

The Kaká transfer saga and what it means to football

Again, small hiatus since my last writing but things are certainly looking up since that post – unbeaten in 8, RVP & Nasri are filling the whole left by Cesc’s knee and it feels like the Arsenal has turned a corner. However – this is not what I’m going to be writing about. Be prepared, [...]

TRANSFER WINDOW – RUMOURS, RUMOURS EVERYWHERE AND NOT A DROP OF FACT

25 days until the transfer window bangs shut again until July at midnight on 2 February. We’re only nine days in and I’m already heartily sick of all the speculation. For what it’s worth, here’s the latest batch, mainly from the Spanish sports newspapers El Mundo Deportivo, AS and Marca:

ARSHAVIN – IS HE IS OR IS HE AIN’T GONNA BE A GUNNER?/UNITED COLOURS OF ARSENAL

The media has gone Andrei Arshavin-listic in the last 24 hours. Reports have him and his other half plotting up at the Landmark Hotel in London. Others have his club Zenit St Petersburg still trying to jack up the price.

Breaking News: Sources suggest Kolo Toure is finally leaving the Arsenal

Rumours at the weekend that were rife suggesting that Kolo Toure was being sold appear to have gained some credibility this afternoon after sources confirm that he was seen clearing his locker and saying goodbye to acquaintances. If this is really true, and all transfer rumours carry a health warning until officially confirmed by the club, then this would end a six [...]

TWO STEPS FORWARD, ONE STEP BACK? TRANSFER RUMOURS

Sorry I haven’t been with you this past week my fellow Gooners. Normally service is now resumed chez Crescit!

Cesc to Barca not again and My greatest Arsenal team

CESC TO BARCA – HERE WE GO AGAIN! Just when you thought it was safe – it starts up anew. Those seekers after truth at the Daily Star are splashing on Cesc to Barca rumours again. The story has also been picked up by the Spanish sports daily Marca, quoting a “source” at the Nou [...]

Good luck to The Arsenal, because we are going to need it…

The final day of the transfer window has always been exciting, however if you were an Arsenal fan it was frankly depressing. Manchester City got taken over and broke the transfer record for Robinho all in one day. The Abu Dhabi syndicate have the spending power of ten Chelsea Football clubs, and the shock waves [...]

Our lack of transfer activity is the price of trying to be the conscience of the Premier League…

Arsene Wenger’s recent outburst about banning clubs with a large deficit from UEFA competitions would end the super club status so coveted of Billionaire owners. This scenario would amount to a cap on transfer fees and excessive wage demands. Clubs would have to spend only what they earned, and if they exceeded a percentage limit [...]

Arsenal announce signing of Mikael Silvestre

Hi Insiders – sorry FTK is away until tomorrow and i’m out for the night so here is the signing news direct from Arsenal.com. More info on this signing will appear tomorrow. Arsenal has today signed French defender Mikael Silvestre on a two year deal having joined the Gunners from Manchester United for an undisclosed [...]

Is Huntelaar really the answer?

Is Huntelaar really the answer? We’ve gathered that he is currently one of the most prolific players in Europe, but is this Dutch striker really the ideal replacement to the seemingly Milan-bound Adebayor? He is a typical poacher, who began at De Graafschap and has worked his way around a number of Dutch clubs [...]

Would no signings really be such a bad thing?

What if Arsenal were to start next season without adding any players? For a lot of people this would be a disaster, I’m not so sure myself. It seems a very hypothetical question, but it is one that is worth answering I feel, and I’m very curious to hear other people’s opinions on this. Although, [...]

Arsenal future transfer targets, another fans view…

With our season over, it is time to begin thinking for the new season, they say. I know everybody loves to start with transfer targets at this period of time, so this indulgence.

Diarra Off? Flamini To Stay Or Go? Centre Midfield Options…Left Winger In?

Yesterday, for a brief part of coverage time, Sky Sports News broke some breaking news to fans.  It disapeared soon after and I have not heard much since but it still disapointed me and it seems he is off.  It stated that Arsenal and Portsmouth were in the middle of negotiations regarding the transfer of [...]

Lassana Diarra Has Reportedly Agreed To Join Portsmouth

Lassana Diarra has reportedly agreed to join Portsmouth from Arsenal.

Please, Jens, Make Up Your Mind! Other Dealings In The Window? Update…

What’s going on with Jens Lehmann?  The man has demanded first team football but has rightfully been kept on the bench due to the magnificent form of Manuel Almunia.  In his reign as Arsenal’s no.1 the Spainiard has been in fine form.  I call it a reign due to the battle that Lehmann seems to [...]

No Surprises On Deadline Day! – And A Poll!

I am absolutely sure that Wenger is not bluffing this time when he says that there will be no more additions to the squad before this week’s deadline. Will Arsenal be able to win the Champions League at the end of this season with a team of mainly unknown players like Ajax did in 1995. [...]

Only A Few Days Left To For Wenger To Buy Some Players!

Everyday day I switch the computer on to Newsnow and check the newspaper sports news on the BBC website in the desperate hope that I will see that someone is coming to the Arsenal – just like thousands of other fans! Here we are now – 2 premiership games and 1 champions league game and [...]

Wenger IS A Genius At Finding Talent In The Transfer Market, But Does He Miss Out Aswell Sometimes?

This summer Arsene Wenger has brought in three players: Lukasz Fabianski, Bakary Sagna and Eduardo Da Silva.  The first is for the future and Arsenal can only trust Wenger’s previously brilliant astuteness in the transfer market when it comes to finding players with potential.  Bakary Sagna looks brilliant; he has made the defence more solid [...]

Risky, Arsene, Very Risky

I am very perplexed and unhappy at Johann Dourou going to Brum till January, when presumably he will be back to cover for Kolo. If we discount the new guy Nordtveit (and you have to as he has only just turned 17), I think we are worryingly short of centreback cover.

Wikipedia Claims Diarra Medical On Sunday

Though it should be taken with a pinch of salt, as anyone can edit entries, Lassana Diarra’s profile on Wikipedia has him currently listed as an Arsenal player, with a medical scheduled on Sunday August 5th. This transfer has been, and remains, hearsay at this point in time. However, if it actually happens it will [...]
