Arsenal fans have voiced their displeasure at Arsene Wenger’s decision to buy “another kid” in the form of teen sensation Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, reports the Mirror.

The paper says AW sealed a £15million deal for Southampton starlet Oxlade-Chamberlain, 17, but that miffed Gooners want to know why he is prepared to spend big on a rookie but not on proven Premier League players.

Season-ticket holder Darren Epstein is quoted as saying: “I hope it will be followed by other signings for the squad. The club has said they would be active, so let’s hope they are true to their word with at least one defender.”
AW said: “He is an exciting young player who will provide us with creativity and an offensive quality. Alex is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions. He can play as an attacking centre midfielder, or wide left and right.
“Alex is a perceptive passer of the ball and has a great understanding of the game and looks to be a very good team player.
“He has done extremely well during his development with Southampton and we are looking forward to him progressing even further and fulfilling his huge potential with Arsenal.”

Oxo said: “I’m so excited to be joining Arsenal. It’s a fantastic club and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of playing football at the highest level.
Arsenal have a great manager in Arsene Wenger, top quality players and an attractive style of play. These were all important factors in me choosing to sign for Arsenal. ‘Im now looking forward to meeting all my new team-mates and giving absolutely everything in an Arsenal shirt.”
Meanwhile, the Guardian says Arsenal have opened the door for Samir Nasri’s £25m move to Manchester City. The paper claims that there is now an acceptance at the club that when City bid £25m, they would be wise to accept, particularly as he wants to quit the Ems.

The Guardian reminds us that Nasri has stalled on signing the new contract on offer at Arsenal, which is worth £90,000 a week, and knows that he could take home as much as double that at City.
The Sun says Nasri has ignored interest from Manchester United – who are thought to have virtually matched City’s wage offer of £125,000 a week – as his heart is set on playing for Roberto Mancini’s outfit.
So, what do you think of Oxo coming to the Arsenal?
