FTK Blog for debate Score late or Score early?

henryArsene Wenger has said on Arsecom following our last minute decider at Hull on Saturday “Manchester United used to score late, yes,” he said. “I believe that this season nobody has scored more than Arsenal in the last 15 minutes. Maybe it is down to a technical superiority and a never-give-up attitude. That is what I like in my team. When I see them on the pitch, I know they will not give up.” Now excuse me for being a little at odds with that thesis Arsene… …

Phew! The Late, Late Show On Humberside

arsenalbadge1Far, far too close for comfort on Saturday at the KC Stadium. The most impressive thing was that we kept going and found a way to win.  As it happens it would still have been close but not that close if the assistant referee had managed to spot that the Hull City player was at least a metre offside before Sol Campbell’s clumsy challenge resulted in a penalty. Phil Brown fulminated afterwards that Campbell should have gone, if not for that "last man" challenge,…

The emancipation of Bendtner

nicklas_bendtnerby KESTER WISEMAN When George Boateng walked off the pitch to a standing ovation from sections of the Hull City fans you would be forgiven for thinking the Dutch midfielder had just lead his side to a famous victory over Arsenal. Instead the former Middlesbrough player was heading for an early shower after first sticking his finger in the eye of Nicklas Bendtner and then his studs in the upper leg of Bacary Sagna. Either incident was punishable by a straig…

Growing Arsenal

eduradoandshirtToday I want to have a look at how Arsenal might continue to grow off the field.  Our income comes from three principal sources:  Broadcasting (radio, television, internet, smart-phones, etc)  Match day revenue (ticket sales, programmes, catering, hospitality, etc)  Commercial (sponsorship, merchandising, etc)  First broadcasting. Most of the money we receive for broadcasting comes from our share of collective deals negotiated by th…

THE HENRY NORRIS HOUR

henrynorrisbannerHenry Norris is the football correspondent of the Bugle newspaper and an ardent Arsenal supporter to boot. Each week he'll join us here at arsenalinsider.com to bring you his forthright views on all things AFC...please be advised, it is not for the faint-hearted!    Hull City   Porto put to the sword, we march on to, er, Hull. Yes, the Humberside deathbed of football that is the KC (Khazi Centre) Stadium welcomes the Royal Arsenal to its environs …

FTK rant: Perhaps I need to believe more…

wenger2This week has been pretty amazing for passionate Arsenal fans like you and me. Rewind… Niklas Bendtner misses 6 gold plated opportunities against Burnley at the Emirates. Sky Sports News and every Arsenal hating pundit brands him a fool, a waste of energy. Christmas DVD's are being made of the clips, with titles like "Six Bendy Boobs" or " 6 things you can't do with a Bendtner", get the drift? Now I recall my earlier blogs slating Bendtner. I refu…
