FTK Blog: This is a short rant…

Football is a results driven business and I am happy to go another season trophyless for the bigger picture…

I am even prepared to suffer the taunts of scum fans as they succumb to altitude sickness due to their unexpected league position…

I am even prepared to accept that Cesc Fabregas will go to Barcelona in the summer…

However what I am not prepared to accept, are players who are not willing to sweat blood for the cause and fight with pride even when losing.

I have had enough of this attitude which suggests that some players are probably over paid and not under pressure for their places.

I want grit… I want passion… but most of all I want the Vermaelen factor.

People who get very angry when we do not as a team give a good account of themselves.

Yesterday very few players stayed on the pitch to acknowledge those of us still left in the stadium to cheer “We love you Arsenal we do” I thank those players who applauded our efforts of support. Lets not worry about the title, lets worry about what we are, and how others see us when the going is tough.

WE ARE THE ARSENAL AND WE ARE THE BEST, WE ARE THE ARSENAL SO F*CK ALL THE REST…

Fight until the end Gunners, anything less is a disgrace to our heritage!

Spot on pal, thing is we are guttless, no stomach for the fight, and just not good enough, power over elegance. said it from august 3 player(over 6ft) short of counting for anything. P.S. Even tho its the kids another hammering on wednesday, which will really cheese me off, and the mood around the emirates will be a lot dimmer.

That was exactly the problem yesterday. We miss the Ray Parlours, the Paddy V's, Petit's, Keowns, Winterburn, Dixon, Adams, Rocky, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg...

I am sorry we need some passion from some of these players a commitment to the cause which they showed early part of the season and now it has died.

What fight does Denilson show? What does Walcott give to the team? Does Arshavin really try as hard as he can?

For me only Cesc shows the spirit that he gained from the legends before him.

I am want some grit and what I want more than anything is a through and through Arsenal player -

MR WENGER STOP HOLDING BACK TALENT AND GET JACK WILSHERE IN THE TEAM! GIVE ME CRAIG EASTMOND AND LANSBURY.

We need commitment and those boys can show it. We cannot buy until January but all the other players have had their chance.

I saw Diaby outside after the game smiling and chatting to friends like this was a damn joke - we just got trashed.

BRING IN JACK WILSHERE!

i think he must be laughing at most of our fans who use to slate him when we were on a winning run with him in the midfield. now that we have lost twice in a row with everybodys fav team played out of the park. diaby became a scapegoat after the man u own goal but nothing is said about verminater. is this defensive partnership realy good or our plenty of goals just made it look good??

AW is such a fool its quite simple no trophies at the end of this season then he can just piss off and once again the idiot is blaming officials yet again for are defeat yesterday. What did I say what was going to happen against Chelsea? Denilson is fucking useless offers nothing whats so ever and AW needs to take that captains arm band back from Cesc the guys a fucking baby. How can u expect to get anything out of Eduardo playing him as a lone striker? its fucking ridiculous Walcott playing on the wing is just as bad it just doest work yesterdays game was crying out for Wallcot to be are main striker it was men against boys yesterday. and i find it rather embarrassing i would have left before the final whistle myself if i was at the game just not good enough.

All I can say to you James is :-Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus
ventsissimis exponebantur ad nece.

In case your Latin is as lacking as your punctuation, I will translate for you.

"In the good old days, children like you would have been left to perish on windswept crags".

Time to hang Almunia out to dry!! First goal understandable( ish). He knows the second is arriving in exactly the same position and he stands behind a defensive and an offensive player waiting for the ball to come to him. Third goal lines up the wall as on so many occasions and can't cover his posts. So many fans still support Almunia and I don't understand why, all we need a goalkeeper to keep us in those tough games, the rest will sort itself out.

Pitiful

He sucks! The third goal totally exposed him, how cant he walk 2 or 3 steps before jump? the idiots just jumped from his position and the shot was on his side.

I said this in a previous post - alot players lack a fighting spirit! I agree with FTK that a lot of players feel their place is secured in the team with only 16-18 year olds behind them in the pecking order. There are players not playing in their favoured positions. Are we getting the best out of Denilson, Eduardo, Arshavin and Walcott in the positions they are put in? Shouldn't the system we play more suit the players we have than the style? If not then why buy players to play them out of their "natural" position. I love Arsenal and will stand by them no matter what. This is no longer a side rebuilding. There have now been 5 years of that and now is the time to deliver. Maybe Wengers trust is some of these players has been misguided. A big player will leave in the summer. Maybe Fabs. If that happens then we start from scratch again!

i think we saw the difference are midfield when Diaby is not around anyone who would rather Denilson than Diaby in the first team is absolutely clueless. I think Had Diaby was fit yesterday the game might had been just a bit different, Diaby was improving defensively and he does seem to bring the best out of Cesc when the two play together

Seriousl who is AW trying to kid?the goals show Chelesa have scored and won.He better know project y aint working and it takes too much time.
I think AW if he is not careful will take Arsenal down to mid table.
Nobody cares about the pretty soccer and amount of possession. The aim is to score and not weave intricate patterns thereby giving defenders time to regroup.
Last night was a good example .

Well said FTK.

We needed players to step up and some didn't, such as Eduardo, Arshavin, Nasri & Walcott. We need a Rocky, a Vieira, a Keown, a Adams.. someone who's prepared to die for the cause.

In Arsene We trust!

Bloomsbury, mate we have lansbury, wilshere, eastmond, ayling and the like in our youth team. I cannot believe we still persist with players whol have failed to deliver. Wilshere is better than Walcott now. Lansbury is better than Denilson. Eastmond would run his buts off better than Denilson.

I love Wenger and the Arsenal and honestly I am not concerned if we do not win something but its when we fail to compete which is dissapointing. We need another top level striker - get Edin Dzeko in.

No one has mentioned Gallas here. he was at fault for the first 2 goals. And Almunia was at fault for the 3rd. The only 2 players in our team over 30 and they are culpable for all 3 goals. Is it really the young players who are the problem?

People are happy to slag off Denilson, Walcott, etc. Maybe we should focus on the causes of the goals for a change rather than just slag off players that they feel aren't good enough for Arsenal in the their opinion.

Agree on Gallas and Almunia but you forget Sagna, the 2 first goals came from his side.

Naive defending and the inability to breakdown a very organised chelsea defence.

I just can't believe AW's reaction after the game.Pathetic, get real AW and just admit to the fact that we were beaten by a very accomplished team.Stop patronizing us with your wacky excuses mate, we may not be premier league managers but we ain't F-ING stupid. You'll get a lot more respect if you'd just be honest with your analysis.

I can't even listen to AW's press conference, it'll just make me angrier.

Good rant, FTK. I'm sick of it -- failure to track back, failure to close down, overawed and totally clueless when confronted with a real team that fights for everything. I've had it. It's the players but it's also the damned training they get -- no one's instilling in them the need to fight hard.

This pretty much ends whatever belief I had left in this team and AW's project. Abject abject performance and I won't even consider any crap excuses about the ref and injuries. Fed up with constant humiliation after humiliation after humiliation season after season after season from Utd and Chelsea. That's it for me.

get fucked Harpon...MUG

get behind the team...yes Almunia is shit AND WE WONT WIN FUCK ALL WITHOUT A GOALKEEPER...i have been saying this for the last two seasons.

Gallas is the class act in the defence and if it wasnt for him Arsenal would be languishing mid table.

lets all be frank...Ashley Cole is a very good left back, pushes forward and is instrumental in two goals for the chavs..but he is a very good player and you can all think what you like he is far more consistent than Clichy.

we will win something this year but I'm not sure what... we must buy a lump of a striker in January and AW realises this.
