Arsene Wenger must instill belief into his young Arsenal stars to convince them they ARE capable of winning the Premier League title.
After beating West Ham and United winning and Chelsea dropping points we are very much in three-way battle for the top flight crown and the legend that is Tony Adams has told arsenalinsider.com that our players must have faith in themselves if they are to snatch the silverware.
“I don’t think Arsene’s players realise what an unbelievable chance they have of winning the title,” said Adams, who lifted four top flight crowns for us. “They should have been dead and buried a long time ago but Chelsea and United have let them back into it several times and now we are the business end of the season they can win it.
“But the players must realise that the remainder of their games in the run-in are all to with getting your mentality right, having the focus to see the season off. The rest of the games are in their minds.
“I think I am right in saying that only two of the current squad, Sol Campbell and Gael Clichy, have won the title and know what it takes so Arsene must somehow give them belief, not that he needs advice from me!” quipped Adams, who made 504 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 32 goals.
Wenger has been forced to rely on veteran Sol Campbell, 35, as cover for crocked William Gallas alongside Thomas Vermaelen and Adams reckons the powerfully built ex-England star will do well to keep up his fitness.
“Sol is what you would call a ‘big unit’ and I think he needs to play games to maintain his match fitness because you kind of think that if he stops he will struggle. He is playing alongside Vermaelen — who for me is the Arsenal player of the season — and the balance is right, and better than with Mikael Silvestre in that position.”
