Arsenal will face Udinese in the play-off game after the Champions League draw in Lyon this morning. They finished fourth in the league last season but haven’t played in the competition since 2006. Arsenal have lost none of the seven two-legged knockout ties against Italian sides in Europe. The Italians have sold Gokhan Inler, Cristian Zapata and Alexis Sanchez in the summer.
Our fourth-place finish in the 2010/11 Premier League meant we entered this season’s competition in the play-off round.
Arsene Wenger’s outfit must win a two-legged tie to take their place in the Group Stage. The games will be played either side of the second weekend of the Premier League campaign – the first leg is scheduled for August 16 or 17 with the second leg on August 23 or 24.
