Arsene Wenger charged by the FA.
It was not a New Year’s Eve for Arsene Wenger to remember, his men put out a poor display and drew 1-1 with bottom of the Premier League West Bromwich Albion. There was plenty of controversy when referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot after Arsenal defender Calum Chambers hit the ball with his arm. West Brom were able to put away when a very cool Jay Rodriguez stepped up and slotted the ball straight down the middle. Arsene Wenger was certainly not happy with the decision, the 68-year old stormed into the match officials’ changing room and supposedly verbally abused some of the officials about the penalty decision. Arsene Wenger has until 18:00 GMT on Friday to respond to the charge.
Should Alexandre Lacazette be doing better at Arsenal?
The word excitement is not enough to express how Arsenal fans felt when they saw summer signing Alexandre Lacazette holding up and Arsenal shirt. The Frenchman is Arsenal’s record signing as he cost The Gunners £52million from Lyon. Lacazette got off to a great start scoring just minutes into his debut against Sydney FC on Arsenal’s pre-season tour. Lacazette scored another goal before his first Premier League season begun when he scored against Sevilla in The Emirates Cup. It was a dream start to Lacazette’s first League game after giving Arsenal the lead 2 minutes in. The Frenchman continued to impress scoring against Bournemouth, West Brom twice, Everton, Huddersfield and Manchester United. Despite all of this he is yet to find the net in 6 Premier League games. Alex has not really been making much impact in previous performances, he usually makes way in the 70th minute which makes Arsenal fans very, very angry as the boo while he walks of the pitch every time.
