Arsenal Fan TV
Well Arsenal Fan TV certainly exploded after the Bayern Munich game. From watching one or two fans interviews, I think the general consensus is Wenger out!
The Hokey Cokey
Talking of Wenger in, or Wenger out, according to BBC Sport Arsenal and Wenger will decide at the end of season if Wenger moves on or stays. Apparently there is a two-year deal on the table if Wenger wants it but both parties will sit down at the end of the season. I actually don’t know how Arsenal Fan TV would cope if he signs for further 2 years.
The Daily Star and Mirror took a different angle on the Alexis Sanchez saga, ‘will he, won’t he stay’. The headline ‘On his way – Alexis Sanchez off to either USA or Italy’ immediately grabbed anyone who browsed it. This was until you read the full story to see that he was heading off on a flight today, for a mini break away. Brilliant detective work by the papers, worked out he was on a flight at 0845 to either Seattle or Venice. The crazy thing is he went without his teammates. Shock horror, how dare he go and not take the squad with him. That is national press at its very best.
Pat Nevin has become a little vocal about Arsenal’s plight, and now has stated while the club is stagnating they won’t be able to sign top players. Nevin feels they will always go to the other top teams. Lucky for wee Pat he isn’t pointing out what’s been happening for the last 10 years anyway.
Taking of bandwagon, Jason Cundy also jumped on, although he may have a point. With Cundy blasting Arsenal transfer policy and missing out on N’Golo Kante. Apparently, according to Wenger he was interested but the move broke down over money. You do feel however that Kante may have been just what the club needed.
The not so good Brazilian
It’s always nice to see where former players are currently plying their trade and I stumbled across none other than Denilson, Arsenal’s not as good as Gilberto Silva replacement. After having his contract mutually terminated at Arsenal he ended up playing for São Paulo for two years before moving to Al Wahda. Currently he is struggling to get regular first team football.
Reports in a few publications are stating that Perez will be looking to leave the club due to a lack of first team games. Perez cost the club 17.1 million in the summer but so far his game time has been limited, much to the frustration of Perez. He has had some minor injuries which probably haven’t helped.
In slightly cheerier news, The Sun reported that Arsenal would have been happy to waive their cut of the gate money for the match against Sutton United. However, FA rules forbid clubs entering into any financial deals with clubs meaning Sutton have to part with £40,000.
