Arsenal’s 31-year-old Cedric Soares should be sold this summer amid interest from Premier League clubs.

Cedric has been left out of Arsenal’s pre-season tour and is clearly not in Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Football London revealed that Cedric is on the radar of a host of Premier League and European sides this summer.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

The £75k-a-week full-back spent the latter half of last season on loan at Fulham given his lack of chances at Arsenal.

And his game time didn’t improve as he moved across London.

Cedric failed to displace Kenny Tete who in fairness did have an excellent season.

However, if you’re returning to Arsenal from your loan, it’s hard to make a case for an improved position if you’ve not been playing.

Cedric was one of the first players to sign for Arsenal under Arteta and did play an important role.

But it really seems the writing is on the wall for the 31-year-old who does seem open to leaving the club permanently.

Cedric could stay in the Premier League if he leaves Arsenal

It was initially reported at the start of the summer that Cedric wanted to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place.

However, with interest from sides in the Premier League, that is surely an attractive proposition for the full-back.

Arsenal have already signed Jurrien Timber who could often be deployed at right-back.

And when you consider Takehiro Tomiyasu is returning from injury and Ben White had a strong season in the position, chances look bleak for Cedric.

At 31-years-old Cedric still has a lot of quality and could really benefit a host of Premier League teams.

Villarreal, who reportedly showed interest in signing Cedric in January, are said to have returned for the defender.

The Portugal international also has interest from three of his nation’s biggest clubs: Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon.

If you are to depart Arsenal then these are all excellent options for the full-back.

You wouldn’t expect The Gunners to demand a sizable fee for the player who they will be keen to move on.

Cedric played an important part in Arteta’s arrival at the club, but it now seems time to move on for all parties.
