Mesut Ozil’s mesmerising talent can thrust Arsenal to end an eight-year trophy drought, says Gunners legend Jens Lehmann.
Ozil joined the Gunners in the summer from Real Madrid and immediately gave Arsene Wenger’s side a boost.
Since his arrival for £42.5million, Ozil has inspired the Emirates outfit to some fantastic form and memorable victories and they sit at the top of the Premier League.
Wenger’s outfit come up against a high-flying Southampton outfit at the Emirates on Saturday as domestic football returns following the international break.
And former No.1 Lehmann believes his former club have a chance to snare some silverware this campaign.
Quizzed whether Arsenal can win the Champions League, he said: “Of course. They have a chance to win everything. It’s always good to lead the league and with Ozil they have a very technically gifted player.
“I hope he will add something to the squad in big games and they can go all the way to the Champions League final in Lisbon and win the Premier League title.”
