The Arsenal Lunchtime Bulletin

Sanchez saga

More information is emerging on Alexis Sanchez, which may explain a little more into him starting on the bench. According to reports, Sanchez had an angry exchange with his team mates during training before the weekend match, leaving the session half way through. On the other players return after training, Sanchez was confronted by some of his team mates with one having to be held back, as tempers flared. It would make more sense as to why he started the Liverpool game on the bench. The question is where did the information come from, and who leaked it? It’s almost like they wanted all the papers to report about it. Hmm

Allegri update

As expected Massimilino Allegri has dismissed suggestions he will be the next manager of Arsenal. Allegri said “I repeat what I have already said before, it’s not true”.

Jon Toral

Toral may have turned a corner after scoring in Rangers 6-0 win against Hamilton in the Scottish Cup. The Spaniard has been having a torrid time since the departure of Mark Warburton.

Transfer target

Arsenal target Andrea Belotti scored a hat-trick to earn his club Torino a 3-1 win against Palermo. The 23 year old has scored 22 goals this season but has a £100m buyout clause.

Silent Stan

The Mail has gone with the story of why majority shareholder Stan Kroenke has failed to speak up over the fiasco around the club. I am not sure why Kroenke not speaking is a surprise to anyone, as the Arsenal fans have always called him Silent Stan. But do the Mail have a point? With the confusion around whether Arsene Wenger is going or staying and the uncertainty of star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, you have to think maybe they are right.

Transfer rumours

Well it seems Arsenal are keeping tabs on Sunderland goal keeper Jordan Pickford. The 22 year old has had an excellent season in a struggling Sunderland team. With Petr Cech underperforming, David Ospina only able to perform in Europe, Emiliano Martinez apparently world class but unproven and Wojciech Szczesny, well, being Wojciech Szczesny, a potential move for Pickford makes sense. Also on the Arsenal radar is Juventus left back Alex Sandro. The 26 year old is seen as an ideal replacement for Nacho Monreal. According to reports Juventus are set to offer Sandro a large pay rise to keep him at the Italian club.
