Transfer news in

It is now being reported Arsenal are favourites to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. The young French midfielder has been in fine form this season in Ligue 1, although the Gunners do face strong competition for his signature with Juventus, Manchester United and Chelsea showing a big interest.

Transfer news out

According to reports West Ham are perhaps interested in signing Kieran Gibbs once again. The Sun had reported last August that Arsenal had turned down a bid for Gibbs from the Hammers in the summer. But with game time lacking and Nacho Monreal first choice, it may be a good move for the English left back.

Arsenal to woo

The move for Manchester City wonder kid Jadon Sancho is getting nearer. Well, that is according to The Sun who also have reported it’s a nasty transfer tussle between Arsenal and Manchester City as the Gunners continue to woo the 16-year-old. Mind you, there is not one mention as to why it has turned nasty or how. Sancho, who turns 17 next month, is eligible to a sign professional contract. The youngster has scored 11 goals in 13 games for England under 16 and under 17s.

Loan news

Dan Crowley scored his first goal for Go Ahead Eagles at the weekend. The Dutch club are currently 16th in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Arsenal through and through

Martin Keown has told BT Sport that Spurs are 10 years behind Arsenal. Mainly pointing to the fact that Spurs are now playing at Wembley and building a new stadium. Both of which Arsenal have already done.

Injury

Stephy Mavididi was carried off on the weekend with a suspected hamstring injury. Charlton Athletic manager Karl Robinson admitted it was his fault and should have brought the youngster off after 60 minutes.

Francesco Acerbi?

So it seems that Italian club, Sassulo’s centre back, turned down a move to Leicester in the January transfer window. He has followed that up by adding “if it was Arsenal, who knows”. Kind of strange, as we have not been looking at him, and at 29 probably won’t be a future target. But hey, never hurts to put out a back handed come and get me plea. Nice try Francesco.

Slow news

The news has been fairly slow in the last few days what with Arsenal not playing at the weekend. Of course all the papers have been struggling too and having tried so hard to resist, I can no longer do it. So I’m going with the Daily Star’s report on Mesut Ozil. Instead of ‘cutting up defences in half, he was cutting meat instead’ thanks Daily Star for that line. Yes Ozil was spotted in a kebab shop in London, cutting a kebab. According to the Star it’s Ozil favourite kebab shop. Brilliant!
