Arsenal recalling Lucas Perez?
Lucas Perez’ first season at Arsenal didn’t quite go to play. He was signed from Deportivo La Coruna who play in the La Liga (Spanish first division) for a fee of £17.1million. Perez sat on the bench for the majority of Arsenal’s games despite making a few starts in the Champions League where he was able to bag a hattrick against Basel in the group stages. Arsenal fans were confused to see Perez on the bench when they looked at the team sheets, they feel as if Wenger didn’t give the 29-year old a chance to prove his quality. Shortly after the season Arsene Wenger thought it was clear Perez needed some time away as he felt Perez was unhappy in London. Wenger loan-listed him and got responds from Everton, West Ham and Deportivo. It was down to the player himself and Perez said he would like to go back for a second spell for a season. Perez has scored 4 goals so far in 10 appearances making him the top scorer for Deportivo and seems to be loving life back in Spain. But with Arsenal looking to send off their longest serving player in the squad Theo Walcott, Wenger is considering calling Perez back. Also, with Sanchez looking more and more likely to leave, it gives Wenger another reason to increase his attacking options.
Who is Konstantinos Mavropanos?
According to reports from Sky Sports, Arsenal are heavily linked with a move for Greek centre-back Konstantinos Marvropanos. But the main question being asked by Arsenal fans is, who on earth is he? Mavropanos is a 20-year old Greek centre-back who broke into the Super League to play for PAS Giannina. He has already attracted Greek giants Olympiacos and looks to be a real star in the future. Fans are frustrated with the reports as they feel Arsenal should be going in for more experienced and well known defenders to strengthen the side. Can Arsenal make top 4?
It certainly hasn’t been the greatest of starts for Arsenal in the 2017/18 season. Despite picking up some brilliant results, fans are not happy with how the club is being managed and how the players are performing, especially away! The Gunners have only picked up an astonishing 12 points out of 30! With Manchester City’s quality and consistency, it would truly be a miracle if Arsenal could win the league. Arsenal are really struggling to cope with the quality of their rivals. They lost 4-0 to Liverpool, 3-1 to Manchester United, 3-1 to Manchester City, but like I said have picked up some brilliant results such as a 2-0 win against their biggest rivals Tottenham Hotspur and a hard fought 0-0 at Stamford Bridge. Do you think Arsenal can push for the top 4 and secure a Champions League spot or is it too early to say? Tweet @ArsenalInsider and give us a follow!
