Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t been in great form lately, to put it mildly.

Against Olympiacos, he wasted several chances, and in the West Ham draw, he was completely anonymous both on the right flank and on the left.

Indeed, Mikel Arteta opted to take his captain off in the latter stages of the game, bringing Gabriel Martinelli on instead.

However, Aubameyang looked back to his best as Gabon ran out 3-0 winners over DR Congo and qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

Goals from Aaron Boupendza, Denis Bouanga and Aubameyang ensured a straightforward victory for the Panthers at the Stade de Franceville.

Boupendza opened the scoring just before the break with a superb effort from range, before Bouanga doubled the lead in the 72nd minute after being put through by Aubameyang.

And the Arsenal skipper sealed the win with a cool finish after being put through on goal and surging away from his markers.

Arsenal’s Twitter account shared the CAF’s Aubameyang highlights video and complimented their captain:
