Tottenham travel to the Emirates Stadium to face fierce rivals Arsenal, for the second North London derby of the season in this Premier League clash. Here is our football preview and betting tips along with stats and team news for the big game of the weekend.
Arsenal go into the game on the back of a thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich probably Europe’s best team. However, in the Premier League they have been impressive, last time out they managed a 3-0 win away at Swansea. The win leaves the Gunners joint top in the league only behind Manchester City on goal difference. Since losing to Chelsea back in the middle of September, Arsene Wenger’s men have gone on a 6 match winning streak scoring 17 and conceding just 3. The addition of goalkeeper Petr Cech is paying off with the Czech keeping 6 clean sheets so far this season. Up top star turns from Midfielder Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have left Arsenal looking a contender for the title this season.
Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to build on <ahref=”http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/”>Tottenham Hotspurs recent good performances. A 3-1 home win against Aston Villa on Monday night was convincing enough with Spurs dominating for larger periods of the game. Arsenal are a much sterner test. Tottenham will be looking for striker Harry Kane to continue his resurgence of goal scoring form. In Spurs great run of form youngsters Eric Dier and Dele Alli have been solid in the middle of the park, they will be looking to impress again, especially with the International Break up and coming.

This will be the second meeting between the two sides this season after coming up against each other in the Capital One Cup. Arsenal run out 2-1 winners that day with a double from Mathieu Flamini sealing the win. Last season Spurs beat Arsenal 2-1 at White Hart Lane in the league and will be looking to do the same again this weekend. Arsenal haven’t lost at home since the opening day against West Ham and will be looking to cement their position at the summit.
Arsenal will check on the fitness of fullback Hector Bellerin (Hamstring) after missing the game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. They will once again be without forwards Theo Walcott (calf) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (hamstring) as well as midfielder Aaron Ramsey (hamstring). Both Danny Welbeck (knee) and Jack Wilshere (leg) are long term absentees.
Tottenham may welcome back South Korean forward Heung-Min Son (foot) after a period on the sidelines. Nabil Bentaleb (foot) is a doubt for a return this weekend.
Predictions and tips
The North London derby has never been short of drama and goals, both sides are enjoying good campaigns and it will take something special to separate them this weekend. I think 3/1 is a great price on the draw. The longer recuperation period could just edge it for Arsenal, with Spurs having a tough midweek game in the Europa League.
